Thanks. Note that his remarks was aboard AFO before the missile launch. The release from the Pentagon Spokesman was after, so I have to believe that over what Trump told the media - notice mostly none committal.

This isn’t a snarky question...Did he have to get UN permission to hit that air field? I know other prez’s have had to get permission from the UN and don’t know what the difference would be.

Thanks in advance for any info.

from Trump:

I think what happened in Syria is a disgrace to humanity. And he’s there, and I guess he’s running things, so something should happen

........................................................

‘and I GUESS he’s (assad) running things’?????????????

You guess???

Sorry folks. Gonna need a little more than ‘I guess he running things’.

Still don’t like getting involved in Syria, still not convinced the chemical attack was by Assad. However in terms of 4D Chess, I get what Trump is doing.

He did what was necessary to stop the atrocities

These few bombs will stop nothing. And the Democrats want nothing more than for Trump to get bogged down in Syria.

you guys are all so sad I don’t even know what to say or where to begin. I thought the intelligence was a lot stronger on this board. I never picked some on Free Republic to defend anybody for any reason to the death.

Same Old S**t - different day.

We know exactly what happened with the gas attacks because the same intelligence agencies that have been stabbing President Trump in the back told him all about it.

Five or ten missiles is a limited strike and sending a message. 60 is removing real military capability. Very different mission.

BREAKING: One Tomahawk missile seems to somehow have gone off course and is headed straight for Brando Island in French Polynesia.

Just kidding... just making suggestions in case anyone's reading this.

Not showing his hand or any clear intention relating to action.

As I said in another post: If Assad had used incendiaries instead of nerve gas against ISIS, would the slow-roasting of some children have been superior to asphyxiation? And finally, why was this OUR business to “punish” Assad? Don’t European armies have cruise missiles? Let them be “a global force for good”. Now we’re doing the business of neo-cons and globalists with a smile.

Ask yourself what could possibly convince Trump to do this?

Direct threat to deliver Iranian nukes?

Blackmail to stop nuking major US city?

On it’s face this makes no sense.

Question. Has anyone seen a damage assessment?

I mean, we warn Russia. Russia warns Assad. Assad warns his generals. The generals move all the valuable crap outta there, and we just spent hundreds of millions to bust up some concrete.

I agree a message was sent. Don’t know if we agree on what the message was.

I understand he had to do something. This looks like Kabuki to me.

Trump just lost most of his younger supporters and the people who were with him the whole time. Don’t expect to see many people protesting for Trump or defending Trump on social media now. This was a monumental own goal by Trump. What he has lost in domestic support will have devastating consequences when the attacks on Trump heat up.

Like I said, Trump punished the equipment that did the deed, he destroyed the planes and hopefully the chemicals. He didn’t go after Assad or military people.

The plan to divide Syria remains the same.

The destruction of the base is for show to who ever is watching.

And the fate of Assad is still with the Russians

The red line runs down the middle of the burning runway at Sharyat and can be seen from Haifa at night.
