The U.S. military has launched more than 50 missiles aimed at Syria, NBC News reported.
A U.S. military official told NBC that 59 tomahawks had been fired, which hit an airfield near Homs.

I was thinking the same—having dinner with the Chinese while this is happening. Wow. Mad Dog Mattis unleashed.
Maybe on paper but, reality is another thing altogether:

Oh BTW, FK Erdogan and his Muslim army...
So, now how can he deny refugees from Syria? Best get some safe zones over there. And, like everyone else, why would Assad do it unless it was a test to Trump.
Geez, if’n I was a conspiracy nut I could almost think this is the deep state wagging the dog. This should get Susan Rice out of the news cycle fer quite a spell. Probably give the commies enough breathing room to concoct an air tight story to absolve them all of unmaskingate. Trump may be playing 4d chess, but he may just have been checked. I’m hoping for an asteroid strike on McCabe.
No, please don’t post that language here.
It is certainly not sitting well with me. To be honest, right now I feel like he lied to me flat-out f-ing LIED.
Man, I am just tired of people these days, and I am finally thankful my kid got out of the Army when the getting was good.
Mr. niteowl77
News of the strike is up on Drudge now. CNN I don’t believe. Fox, who knows? But Drudge is pretty solid.
Thank your son for his service for me.
Point me to where trump said he is sending in ground troops.
Dead Russians might be a problem...but that would help with Mr. Trump’s “too friendly with Russia” problem.
Great Post
“Red Line”
You are a hysteric. Calm down.
I am just reporting what I heard, I do not have an opinion because I really have no idea what we should or shouldnt do. But being a woman with young grandchildren, it is damn near impossible to watch little kids burned with chemical weapons. I would rather stop these horrific crimes before they come to our shores.
Please can you look at this post and remove it? It is sad to see that word typed out in full on Free Republic. Thank you. Kalamata
You claiming follow on attacks in excess of what is in theater? How much do you think we have in theater for daily air sorties and ground ops. That has been over there since we left Iraq. What the hell do you think the Pentagon has been doing since ordered to come up with plan to get rid of ISIS? Or do you claim attacking the Syrian gov't forces was the plan all along?
I hope this is the end of it and we don’t get sucked into that war on top of the other ones we are already in.
Who knows? That’s why classified stuff is classified. If I knew, it wouldn’t be a secret.
Destroying equipment and issuing a stern warning isn’t WWIII.
He’s got a long way to go to get to Obama’s number: 12,192 bombs were dropped on Syria in 2016.
“What Intel could he possibly have that would make this any of our business?”
That’s easy, Assad and his allies were getting the upper hand in defeating the Saudi, MI6, Mossad, CIA, Turkish creation known as ISIS. Can’t allow that uppity behaviour.
Oh forgot, Iran. You want to keep the North Koreans, Russians, Iranians and Chinese from thinking President Trump is an isolationist wimp.
“Hip-hip hoo-ray. Now they can view him as a deranged lunatic.”
There is an advantage to having foreign powers think Trump is a “deranged lunatic”. They are more unlikely to F*ck with him because they will fear the response.
Everyone chill. What is likely to happen from tonight’s action? The Russians are going to tell the Syrian government to stop the chemical attacks so they don’t provoke the “deranged lunatic”. And the Syrian government will stop. Problem solved. Well at least 1 problem solved.
