Jill And Joe Biden strike a three-book deal ($60 million!)
AOL ^

Posted on 04/06/2017 6:55:15 AM PDT by TigerClaws

Books written by former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden will be coming to a store near you, reports USA Today.

The anticipated release dates have yet to be announced, but the couple has reportedly signed a deal with Flatiron Books.

According to the publisher, the agreement involves three books, two written by the former vice president and the other by his wife, notes The Hill.

Thus far, the content of only one has been revealed.

Politico reports that Joe Biden plans to write about his experience of serving in the White House while coping with the 2015 death of his son Beau. AdChoices

He will also reportedly discuss his reasons for not entering the 2016 presidential election.

In a statement, Flatiron said, "We're so deeply honored to be the publisher of these books by Vice President and Dr. Biden. The vice president's book promises to give us all a deeper understanding of recent political history, but it will clearly also be a book about the values that have given the vice president strength in both good times and bad."

Right.

Obama will be a billionaire within 10 years. Book deals, no show board of director gigs, foundations, etc.

The Clintons showed there are no restrictions or rules restricting graft from former and possible presidents.

We’re living in a banana republic now. The use of our intelligence agencies for politics is just one of many symptoms.

This is a “big FU..in’ deal”. Looks like book publishers know that hundreds of thousands of books will be sent to commie school libraries and thus a good profit making scam. Forger soetoro and ‘stand up chuck’ can’t write a lick but can be licked in the right places.

Wealth Redistribution scam.

There is no way they would legitimately sell enough books to recover that amount of money.

Usually the DNC and well heeled liberal organizations buy the books in bulk to drive up sales numbers.

Then they hand the books out for free or send them to the compost pile.

A week after publication books like this show up on eBay for 1¢ plus shipping.

Pure payola.

That’s 3 million copies sold at $20 per. We’re talking Harry Potter numbers for Joe F’n Biden.

This looks like the definition of a vanity project.
Who is really waiting to see three different books ‘written’ by Joe Biden and his wife? I venture to say Chelsea Clinton’s most recent book will out sell the Bidens. That book sold very few copies.

Another payoff via book deal.

Precisely!

Think of how many books they will have to sell just to come close to breaking even, then think of how many dems actually read, and finally consider what Idiot Joe Biden would have to say.

Joe is going to have a chapter on planning the family’s next Thanksgiving get together. Seating arrangements will be a challenge.

Amazon can track at what page the average Kindle reader stops reading a book. For Hillary Clinton's latest it was page 28

Where can I find that information?

That’s a lot of cash for an alphabet book with half the letter missing.

It might be a candidate for a "World's Thinnest Book" title.

OTOH, a "World's Thickest Book" would be "Joe Biden's Greatest Gaffes"...I'd buy that one.

In the unlikely event that I feel like I need to read this book, I’ll wait 6 weeks after its publication and pick up a new copy for a $1 in the discount bin.

The real joke for the Dems is this, all those talking about running are Baby Boomers Plus. Are there any possible candidates from Generations X,Y, and Z able to run?

Hillary will be 73
Joe Biden 78
Gov. Jerry Brown 82
Sen. Elizabeth Warren 71
Rep Nancy Pelosi 80

Ladies and gentlemen that is your lineup.

These book deals are patently phony. There is no way the Biden’s books or the Obama’s will ever generate that kind of sales

Unfortunately I forgot where I read that. I suspect the information is proprietary but someone at Amazon leaked it.

“As reported by The New York Times, the Democratic nominee sold fewer than 3,000 copies of her book, Stronger Together, in its first week on sale.”

NYT: Publisher Won’t Make Back Hillary’s Large Book Advance
9:03 PM, JUN 25, 2014 | By DANIEL HALPER

The New York Times reports that Hillary Clinton’s published, Simon & Schuster, isn’t likely to sell enough books to make back her hefty advance.

“Sales of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s new memoir, ‘Hard Choices,’ declined 43.5 percent to 48,000 copies in its second week on the shelves, according to Nielsen BookScan,” the Times reports.

The sales figures put pressure on the publisher, Simon & Schuster, which paid Mrs. Clinton a multimillion-dollar advance to write about her time at the State Department and has invested heavily in the book’s rollout, one of the biggest of the year. …

First-week sales typically account for about 30 percent of the total, thanks to the publicity blitzes that accompany publishers’ biggest releases. That means “Hard Choices” could fall far short of the one million copies that Simon & Schuster shipped to bookstores, industry executives said. (Publishers sell books on consignment and must take back copies that do not sell in the stores.)

The second-week figures also increase the likelihood that Simon & Schuster will not sell enough books to make up for Mrs. Clinton’s advance, said a publishing executive who did not want to speak on the record discussing a competitor’s book.

Some reports claim Hillary Clinton received a $14 million advance for her most recent book, Hard Choices.

***
The Bidens apparently are getting $20 MM each for 3 books.

I will leave alone the notion that anyone would want to read whatever they have to say. But the business idea that Bidenbooks would outsell Clintonbooks is IMO far fetched.
