Global warming killed off the Mayans by locking leaders in violent power struggle

The reason for the collapse of Mayan civilisation has been hotly debated, but now scientists claim they have an answer - climate change.

Researchers believe that hot weather made the Mayans more aggressive and therefore likely to fight one another.

As crops failed due to the rising temperatures leaders waged war for power which lit the fuse of their eventual demise around 900 AD, the study says.

With crops levels low Mayan leaders could no longer rely on brash festivals or building projects to keep their sujects happy.

So they resorted to power struggles and war instead which finished the mysterious civilisation off.

Researchers catalogued inscriptions related to violence on stone monuments and compared them to temperature and rainfall records for the lowlands of the Yucatán Peninsula, which includes mordern-day Mexico, Guatemala and Belize.

The climate changed. Drought killed the Mayan civilization.
No water no people. Ba Da Bing. Not the first time or the last.

Since they didn’t have SUV’s or power plants, it must have been cow farts.

Researchers believe that hot weather made the Mayans more aggressive and therefore likely to fight one another.

So...are these "researchers" the same idiots who say that the science is settled on anthropogenic global warming?

If so, did they just not admit that their science is supremely flawed and bogus? I mean, I don't know of any SUV models that were in use during the age of the Mayans. Any fossil fuels weren't in wide usage back then. So what the actual f***?

This proves then that gloBULL warming is a continuing natural phenomenon. The Mayan people didn’t use combustible engines nor do I recall from my history classes that they built factories that belched out smoke into the air. This argument that the Mayans were done in by gloBULL warming has been around a few years. This is all flies in the face of the current arguments the left is putting forward about man exclusively causing gloBULL warming.

Yep, absolutely nothing to do with them drinking from the same pool of water into which they threw their human sacrifices.

Meanwhile in tenth century Scandinavia and Britain the Danes were spreading like a tsunami. The climate is always changing and all species, including ours, simply adapt or die.

Even when I was a kid decades ago we knew trouble brewed as the temperature rose in the summer.

It couldn't have been Mayan SUVs it was the European SUVs creating a climatic “butterfly effect” as they were driven from one white privilege event to another. Remember climate change is a problem caused by Old Angry White Men.

I’m stuck at trying to find the man-made cause of the last glacier retreat? Who is responsible for the Fingerlakes and other massive destruction of mudda erff?

Wait! Maybe not man-made, but dinosaur farts. I might apply for a million dollar federal grant to study dino-farts.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that lack of moral values has in every instance in history contributed to the destruction of a society (including ours)? Does anyone have the nerve to bring this up?

As crops failed due to the rising temperatures leaders waged war for power which lit the fuse of their eventual demise around 900 AD, the study says.

And the coming of the Little Ice Age caused crop failures that supposedly was a significant cause of the 100 Years War. Crop failures and famine cause war, no matter why they occur.

hmmm. Sounds like their culture had moral swings. I wonder if before the first collapse they started sacrificing humans, were invaded and conquered, stopped human sacrifice, were blessed, started human sacrifice, were conquered again forever. Just a Biblical theory, but would love to know.
