Vice President Mike Pence has offered to broker a peace accord with the White House and the House Freedom Caucus, a move that could lead the small but powerful faction of Congress to eventually support President Trumps health-care overhaul, the FOX Business Network has learned.
The presidents health care initiative failed two weeks ago amid criticism from the Freedom Caucusa fiscally conservative faction inside the House GOP that it didnt include enough free-market initiatives to effectively reverse ObamaCares vast array of insurance mandates that form the current health care system.
Without the support of the 36-member Freedom Caucus, Speaker Paul Ryan decided not to bring the presidents bill to the floor of the House for a vote, effectively killing the measure at least for the immediate future.
In a meeting Monday night with the Freedom Caucus, Pence offered to broker a truce, and even apologized for the heated rhetoric coming out of the White House against individual members, according to people who were present at the meeting.
Pences statement came after the Caucuss chairman, North Carolina Congressman Mark Meadows, asked Pence to address attacks coming from the White House against the group, said one person in the room.
Pence, this person said, Noted I absolutely understand the concerns of the Caucus about the attacks.
The person said Pence then apologized and offered to broker a peace between both sides. Based on the conversation they had I very much think there will not be any more attacks on our members any time soon, said one person at the meeting who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
This account was confirmed by Alyssa Farah, a spokeswoman for Meadows, who had no further comment. White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks didnt immediately return a telephone call and email for comment

Come on, people now; smile on your brutha, everybody get together, gonna love one another right now!
2 Corinthians 6:14-17King James Version (KJV)
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
as long as Paul Ryan stays out of the picture, things work great!
Just please no more friendly fire like that ever again, and everything will be fine.
A powerful quote, and one that means a lot to me. So, who is supposed to come out from what?
Without the support of the 36-member Freedom Caucus, Speaker Paul Ryan decided not to bring the presidents bill to the floor of the House for a vote, effectively killing the measure at least for the immediate future.

This statement is a lie. There were not 36 members in the HFC. Maybe 30. And of those 30 - only 18 remained opposed to TrumpCare.
And as we now know - the HFC had NOTHING to do with Ryan pulling the vote. It was moderate GOP-e Repubs and other assorted RINO’s
But Trump and Ryan had to find someone to blame. And blaming the HFC was easy.
Until we learned they weren’t at fault.
Just keep Paul Ryan out of it. Trump and the Freedom Caucus shouldn’t be fighting each other. They both have the same enemies, namely the mainstream media, Hollywood, the far left crazies and the Democrats.
It’s insane for Trump to be picking a public fight with the Freedom Caucus, his most natural allies. He’s either getting some REALLY bad advise from his damn family members or he’s ignoring good advice from Bannon and Conway.
Just be sure that we wont have communist heathcare like was put forward in RINOCARE.
this is a good role for Pence smoothing things over on the Hill. may pave the way for things to get done!
These conversations should have taken place the first time around. That they weren’t, cost Trump and Republicans as a movement for reform and swamp draining. Personally I think that the Speaker did what he did intentionally to hobble any kind of conservative free market leadership in Congress. Once R’s have a solution that brings meaningful improvements (ie market-based cost savings) to health care, they need to hold public hearings and sell the plan to the People. Any Obamacare collapses in the meantime belong to D’s and D’s only. There will need to be some stopgap accommodation for those affected by Obamafailure. Let’s sell a sustainable private health system!
My man Pence showing real leadership.
Take notes.
Good point.
We certainly need some young blood in Congress.
For our nation:
agreement for comity, breeds comedy
agreement on substance, brings sustenance
A truce is easy:
Repeal Obamacare - a real repeal - or issue so many executive orders that the law becomes irrelevant if you can’t get a full repeal through Congress (I’d go nuclear to do that though).
Deport illegals by the tens of thousands every month, and ramp up from there.
Appoint more judges just like Gorsuch.
Shrink the actual size of FedGov.
Stop the refugee programs administratively, or through other means, despite the overreach of black-robed thugs who order otherwise.
What bothered me the most about the failure to vote on TrumpCare was Trump’s response.
That Friday he announced that he was done. That healthcare reform failed and so he was “moving on”. He was going to move from healthcare reform to tax reform.
Only to start first thing again Monday with tweet after tweet blaming the HFC.
And did we miss it? Did we miss the tax code reform Trump said he was moving on to?
No. No, I don’t think we did. The way I see it - Trump has continued to be too busy sucking up to RyanCare to be bother with tax code reform.
Interesting how Fox wants readers to believe that a bill originating in the House somehow belongs to the President. Well, no, if it belongs to anybody, it belongs to Paul Ryan.
Imho, it is a good idea to work together to defeat a common enemy.
Trust is the key that makes it possible.

Pence doing some good work indeed!
