A Texas man was arrested and charged with a third-degree felony for allegedly shooting at two men who were attacking his fiancée outside their home.
Jeremiah Morin, 34, of Spring, is being accused of firing at the men indiscriminately, the Houston Chronicle reported Friday. The Montgomery County Sheriffs Office said the two men were still at large.
Morins fiancée was taking her children inside the home when two men in ski masks attacked her, deputies said.

Authorities added that Morin grabbed his gun and opened fire and that he continued to chase them down the street and fired more shots...
Wow; Spring is where I met a guy from church back in 2013 at the Red Robin there for lunch.
Indiscriminate? Maybe because he missed but I’m surprised he got charged.
He should have used a 12 , with #1 buck.
“Indiscriminate? Maybe because he missed but Im surprised he got charged.”
Sometimes it pays to read the article ...
Read the article.
With my advice there would be no chase.
Onion article?
If no innocents were harmed the authorities must give consideration to the man’s state of mind.
You can shoot a man who is no threat for catching him in bed with your wife, what’s the difference, especially when children are involved.
So he should’ve held his fire?
LOL!
I propose that had he not fired they would’ve taken his wife and kids.
> If no innocents were harmed the authorities must give consideration to the mans state of mind. <
That’s an interesting point. This was no simple sidewalk argument. From the article:
Neighbors told the Chronicle that one of the two men had Morins fiancée in a headlock and were dragging her against her will. Carlisle said thats when Morin came out and started to fire.
Charges will be ultimately dismissed
The two key points from the article are:
“’He began to indiscriminately shoot multiple rounds down the street,’ Montgomery County Sheriffs Capt. Bryan Carlisle said. ‘These rounds definitely went down a very crowded street.’”
and
“Police said Morin and his fiancée have been uncooperative. Authorities believe the attack was gang-related.”
Mr. Morin was not arrested for defending his fiance, he was arrested for hazarding innocent bystanders with his gunfire. Another article I saw indicated that he has a gang history himself, so there may be other charges related to that.
Where he went "wrong" was not enough range time. I'd volunteer for his jury, because the trial would be over in five minutes - NOT GUILTY and let me buy you a beer sir!
> So he shouldve held his fire? <
He was arrested because he continued to fire even after the attackers had begun to flee.
> I propose that had he not fired they wouldve taken his wife and kids. <
Yep. And I’ll bet the jury sees it that way too.
>> and that he continued to chase them down the street and fired more shots..
And that’s a problem?
“The Montgomery County Sheriffs Office said the two men were still at large”.
Not if it was I doing the shooting.
The guy needs more target practice.
If he had plugged the evil-doers with his fist few shots it could not be considered indiscriminate use of a firearm.
No, it’s because the perps fled and he gave chase shooting in a populated area.
Also, it’s Washington state where anyone with a gun is dangerous.
It was gang related, the victim and the shooter refuse to cooperate with police. So f’em.
Next time they get attacked it will certainly be because they play a very dangerous game with a high mortality rate.
[Authorities did not find a blood trail as the attackers left the scene. The suspects were described as short, black males wearing dark clothing along with the ski masks.]
Guessing it’s not snowing in Spring, Texas this time of year.
