Hasel Afshar moved from Iran to the US seven years ago as a refugee. In that time, he's had his share of run-ins with xenophobes who's yelled at him to go back to his country or threatened him with violence.

But none of that prepared him for what greeted him when he came home earlier this week. The house in Troutdale, Oregon, had been ransacked and laced with graffiti. The vandals smashed his door with an ax, slashed his furniture, and spray-painted graffiti everywhere.

Living a dozen miles west of Ground Zero in lower Manhattan, I view any action taken by Americans to keep Muslims (or those they perceive as Muslim) away from them as self defense. May sound cold or stupid or childish, but “We Know”...

Yes Bahaii is derived from Islam but there are not transnational terror groups who hate the West, plot attacks or carry them out. They wouldnt have their world HQ in Israel if they did. The Muslims week to supress Bahaii mainly bc of its commission of jihad.

Thanks, but I wouldn’t blame anyone in this country for looking at it the same way. We just get to have monuments in each of the towns within sight of Lower Manhattan with the names of our dead locals on them...
