“it would be unconstitutional for Donald Trump to bring a repeal bill up for a vote”
Exactly. But the trolls don’t care. For them everything is Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump.
If the Freedom Caucus can get their clean, pure and perfect bill to Trump’s desk, Trump will sign it.
At least with the crap sandwich of Ryancare, there is a Phase 2 that lets Trump change things and when possible, a Phase 3 that phases people off, but likely after the economy has kicked in more jobs and fewer people are on Ryancare.
Trump believes he can work with that mess. If so, I say go for it.
Ryan won't let anything else happen and the Republicans don't have the balls for a repeal, so it won't come up for a vote.
Bovine feces.
The man has gotten more conservative things done in two months than your sacred cows got done in 8 years. Hell, he’s done more conservative things than your pwesious Fweedom Caucus has even TRIED to do.
And now you whine because he’s trying to keep his Obamacare promise as best he can, and you’re kvetching because it’s not fast enough?
Don’t cry because you’re still butthurt from the primaries.
.
You must be the “Bovine!”
.
Meadows said that "we have an agreement in principle". He didn't continue on to say, "to repeal and replace".
You're passing along Fake News.
lol.
I like a LOT of what Trump has done.
Backing Ryan on this and calling out real conservatives ain’t one of them.
The House Speaker had endorsed a full repeal -- "every single word". That's one of the reasons why the House Freedom finally voted for Ryan.
This is stupid and ridiculous. The way I’m reading this the two most onerous things about ObamaCare remain: the individual mandate and preexisting conditions.
Congratulations moron Republicans!
So the blame is on Ryan and not Trump or the HFC.
I think you people are functionally retarded. That means that Meadows and the HFC negotiated for a repeal and replace, haggling over details, coming back with more demands to change a REPLACEMENT bill, without actually having any agreement in principle about replacing the bill!
Only a barely functional retard would come to this conclusion and read this sentence, within its context, any differently.
How many in the FC were bought by the Koch Brothers? They’re not saints. Trump tried to deal with them and they kept moving the goal posts. Some of them are Never Trumpers.
Trump can’t force Congress to do the right thing.
Please try to claw yourself together.
And I generally agree with that.
But a day or two before the vote, Meadows and Bratt were on Hannity where it sure looked like they had an agreement.
"Freedom Caucus appears to be getting on board with "Repeal and Replace" (Hannity Show)"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3537250/posts
So what happened here more vacillation? Unless you're a fly on the wall listening in or can read minds, it's hard to say. Maybe Meadows also has a hard time keeping his FC cats corralled.
How many in the FC were bought by the Koch Brothers? Theyre not saints.
Nobody is saying they are saints, nobody in Congress is a saint, but they’re fighting the Democrats and the big government Republicans in Congress and that makes them better than everyone else there.
Funny. You strain yourself coming up with that?
Trump has two choices
1. Play nice and get no deal with FC but not see his poll numbers go down
2. Play hardball with FC to get the final votes needed to get the deal done and not worry about the polls in an attempt to get all the R’s to vote for a bill which would get enough votes from moderates.
Trump did the non-politician thing. He was willing to sacrifice popularity to get the thing moving.
Trump promised this at almost every rally to deal with all talk and no action politicians.
Healthcare was Trump’s most “liberal” position. Everything else he is doing is pretty hard a$$.
I don’t feel comfortable with this bill regardless. Trump ran as more moderate on healthcare for sure, so I understood he would not be able to meet all the demands of the Freedom Caucus. However, I don’t feel comfortable with this bill as it has a poor approval rating, and the American people don’t understand it because it hasn’t been sufficiently explained or promoted. The costs will go up for the elderly (many of whom voted for Trump), I read that there could be negative affects for veterans, etc. A lot of the good stuff comes in phase 3, but we have to hope they are even able to pass phase 3. With the approval rating right now for Obamacare higher than this, let Obamacare collapse, you’ll have the American people on your side, and then move in with a great plan.
Think of the current bill as a shell at the moment.
It’s full of slime right now, but hollow it out and it can be a vessel for some pretty good things. It’s going to be changed many, many times before it even reaches reconciliation.
They are keeping Medicaid, but my read is that by throwing it back to the states, people will get tossed off of it. The media was out (in an effort to help Democrats of course) interviewing poor people who voted for Trump who are ill and rely on Medicaid.
Where is Meadows claiming that they always supported repeal only, up until now?
If you think that it says that in this article, then you are a dumbass.
Obamacare is a Democrat crap sandwich. Ryanocare is a R crap sandwich. Name one single large federal program created by D’s that R’s have EVER eliminated. You people are NUTS. And by the way, the only people throwing insults around here are the scumbags trying to ram this socialist monstrosity down our throats. My recommendation is that you go somewhere quiet to think about that...perhaps on top of the Washington Monument?
