Mark Meadows says Freedom Caucus will go along with AHCA if it kills community rating and EHB regs

[Full title] MEADOWS: The Obamacare mandates, there are 12 of them. Mark Meadows says Freedom Caucus will go along with AHCA if it kills community rating and EHB regulations

In the debate over repealing and replacing Obamacare, Republican leadership complains that conservatives have been moving the goal post. And Mark Meadows says they're right.

"Well we have," the Freedom Caucus chairman admits with a sigh during a sit-down interview with the Washington Examiner. "We've moved it much closer. All they have to do is kick a little chip shot through the goal posts...."

This comes after weeks of intense negotiation with leadership and the White House on the best way to overhaul Obamacare. But Meadows says his group of three dozen conservatives aren't asking for one thing before demanding another. Instead, he insists that the Freedom Caucus is conceding.

The group has abandoned their demand for a clean repeal. They're not asking Speaker Ryan to clear the slate and start over. Just eliminating the Obamacare mandates for coverage of Essential Health Benefits and the price controls known as "Community Rating," Meadows said "would bring the vast majority of the Freedom Caucus to a yes."

Before it went down in flames, the American Health Care Act only eliminated two of Obamacare's 12 mandates, specifically the individual and employer mandates. If Ryan can kick two more mandates, then he can get the win.

That can't be that hard Meadows said, considering Republicans campaigned on getting rid of Obamacare completely. "In the end," he said, "the request is pretty simple, just two more of the 12 Obamacare mandates."

HFC walked into the meeting with Trump, held the bible high. After they left, they put the bible down and started lying! HFC has a problem with the truth and Trump had a problem with that.

I mean, Trump has been President for TWO WHOLE FREAKING MONTHS!

And Sessions has been Attorney General for FOUR WHOLE WEEKS!

And of course Congress and everyone else has been so cooperative, too.

Logical fallacy: No true Scotsman.

Maybe when you can accept that real patriotic conservatives may actually think that there are, gasp, DIFFERENT IDEAS to reach the same goal, maybe the ‘cultists’ won’t treat you like you treat us.

Trump is wrong on this.

President Trump’s biggest problem is Paul Ryan, not the Freedom Caucus.

1)Ryan is bought and paid for by his wife whose estate is worth 6.5 million dollars , she and her family are democrats.

http://heavy.com/news/2015/10/paul-ryan-wife-janna-little-speaker-of-the-house-married-children-bio-job-net-worth-age-romney-pictures-photos/

2)Secondly Ryan is bought by the Insurance and Big Pharm Lobbies. In Particular Northwestern Mutual, a Milwaukee-based insurance company that also offers financial services. All but eight of Ryan’s 20 biggest backers are in the financial, insurance, or health sectors, CRP data shows.

https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2012/08/14/the-big-money-behind-paul-ryans-political-career

Paul Ryan tried to screw the People on Health Care, and he will keep trying to screw the people on Health Care.He wants massive profits for his backers. The Freedom Caucus stopped Ryan and exposed him to the People and also exposed Ryan’s agenda to President Trump.Ryan does not care one wit for the People.Ryan is a man made by his wife’s fortune, not from his own effort or intelligence, or popular support form the electorate. He bought his way through lobbyists.

President Trump needs to turn that Ryan rig around, or he will become the lamest duck in presidential history. All the president has to do is rely on the People. It wouldn’t take much.

God Bless the Freedom Caucus.

Those two points are the keys to letting a free market work again in health insurance - without them, premiums won’t come down.

If premiums don’t come down, the only political issue will be democrat claims that granny has been cut off. If premiums do drop considerably, a powerful political message will be available to Republicans - which will resonate with the broad middle class, who will see kitchen table savings.

Take the pain to pass it now, and the public will see premium savings before the next election. You need to pull this scab off quick, because the insurance lobby doesn’t want lower premiums.

Trump has lost our trust.

Say what? when were you elected to speak for everybody? Just know, you do not speak for me. Trump has been in office for barely two months. And you are out? Snowflake much?

“This is excellent news”

Yes. They need to stop talking and start repealing

And the pro-obamacare trolls need to stop bitching about every repeal plan that comes along. If they want the feds to pay for their healthcare they should join DU.

“This AHCA crap sandwich”

A crap sandwich is better than obamacare. Start repealing now. Spend the next 100 repealing every facet of obamacare but start now. Repeal it and own it. Your fear of owning the repeal is typical of cowardly Rinos.

Translation: Uncle. Trump wins. We will deal. We don’t want him doing a deal with the Dem’s. Please give us at least a crumb so we can save face. Straight out of Art of the Deal.

You cannot be serious that this is a deal to be proud of. You are going to hold this deal up as an accomplishment for _resident Trump. Repealing 4 of 12 when he said he would REPEAL Obamacare and REPLACE it. Not a third of it he said ALL of it.

Well if this is the best of the great businessman it is no wonder he has lost more money than he has made in his lifetime.

So, Ryan represents the HFC and won’t bring a repeal to the floor, and you hate Trump for this?

Go obamacare!! /s”

Who knew some of the biggest supporters of Obamacare are right here! Heck, they would rejoice if Obamacare is renamed Trumpcare, so that they can now openly support how they are now “winning” at Healthcare. Gubmint run, but the best dang gubmint run care godangit

Meadows sorta admits that the FC was moving the goal posts

Yeah toward Ryno and _resident Trump so that they could "chip shot it in"

Come on get serious about what is happening in front of your eyes. _resident Trump has shown us what camp he really is in and it is not the one that put him in office

Great post. Let the free market handle HC the way it should be. It is a shame that people are calling it a win for _resident Trump because they may get 4 of 12 repealed.

What a win for the Trump brigade and the American people /SARC

Well, it would be unconstitutional for Donald Trump to bring a repeal bill up for a vote. Trump can only sign or not sign a bill that passed through Congress, and you call Donald a “liar?”

Gawd. What ever happened to REPEAL!?

We're supposed to think that a full repeal is unpopular and can't happen.

Nevermind that the House Republicans ran on full repeal and passed a full repeal numerous times.

Yes, the b@st@rds did, and they can't begin to care now, when we have a president who would sign it.

Well he sure can push a bill through the House and his groupees can worship at his heels saying what a deal he has made now getting the FC to agree to 4 of 12 regs. So if _resident Trump is good with those numbers he pushed the bill for a vote and it is NOT a repeal. So he LIES!!!!!
