Health Reform: For a week now, the conservative House Freedom Caucus has been taking hits for derailing the Republican effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare. But why are moderate/liberal Republicans who refused to support the bill getting a free pass?
The Freedom Caucus was the most vociferous in its opposition to the American Health Care Act or at least its criticisms of the bill attracted the most attention.
The Wall Street Journal editorial page blamed the group, calling it the "Freedom-From-Reality Caucus." CNN reported that "its members are Public Enemy No. 1 on Capitol Hill."
President Trump went so far as to tweet that "The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!"
The truth is that nobody knows for sure who would have voted against the bill since House Speaker Paul Ryan pulled it from the floor before a vote was cast.
However, IBD examined two lists compiled by NBC News and Heavy.com of those who had publicly stated that they were leaning or definite "no" votes on the American Health Care Act. Combining the two lists, it adds up to 44 Republicans who could have cast "no" votes if they'd had the chance.
Of those, only 18 are members of the Freedom Caucus.

That may be the case, but if so you’re in even deeper trouble.
Never thought I would see the day when Free Republic posters would want to eliminate conservatives from Congress.
So true I’m speechless.
30 guys can’t elect a Speaker against 200+ RINOs.
“Ryancare was to PRESERVE Obamacare, not end it.”
So many have said. Yet, Obamacare continues to suck our $$$ & liberty away. We got lot’s of “principals” being thrown here & there but as far as actually doing ANYTHING to remove this evil all we have is the same NOTHING we’ve had for the last 7 years: lot’s of talk, zero accomplished.
Things have grown very weird.
We only want to eliminate “conservatives” from congress. Not conservatives.
Mo Brooks has a repeal bill, the RINOs won’t let it come to the floor.
Where do they stand on the President's illegal immigration crackdown? Stripping The EPA of its regulatory power? Tax cuts? The Keystone XL Pipeline?
Pick any other Trump decision or agenda item. If The HFC is so anti-Trump, where else are they blocking his agenda from advancing.
Now, as for DemonicRATS, where do they stand on President Trump's agenda?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?
No difference between a ryancare supporter and a homobamacare supporter. None.
You mean you want “conservatives” like Paul Ryan to stay and get rid of conservatives like Dave Brat.
You are siding with RINOs.
I am a very avid Trump supporter. If it came down to it I’d stop whatever I was doing on FR and go my own way if the tables ended up we have to dump Trump.
That said, I don’t give one rat’s patootie about who or what this healthcare thing is tagged with. RyanCare, TrumpCare or whatever.
I wanted negotiation and it appears to me I did not get that. Instead, I get what a lot of I see is pent-up “I didn’t want Trump as the nominee” and a whole lot of carping, thrashing and whining.
WE have a job to do and that is to get as much out of these few years as possible and to force these bastard RINOs into submission and take back control of our government. It is not in our purview with limited influence to throw a wrench and say “do or die” or else. The POWER to do that is NOT there. Only to possibly deter the side with the better motives.
This debacle is a real problem here at FR, I think and I really don’t know if we’ll all survive it, but I know what side I’m gonna come down on. I went all-in after having supported Cruz and then saw the light. I’m gonna stick with that because I haven’t seen any better, even with all this “principle.”
Where do they stand on the President’s illegal immigration crackdown? Stripping The EPA of its regulatory power? Tax cuts? The Keystone XL Pipeline?

My Congressman Dave Brat is in favor of all of them.
He just did not want to cement the worst parts of Obamacare in place and make the parts they were “fixing” worse.
I find replacing a democrat crap sandwich with a republican crap sandwich is even more repugnant.
The House needs to take up Mo Brooks' repeal-only measure.
So far, it seems like a witch's hat and a fake nose has been place on the HFC and the peasants want to burn her at the stake.
I just want to put The HFC on a scale with a duck and see if the scale tilts.
“The House needs to take up Mo Brooks’ repeal-only measure. “
I agree. I don’t believe they will because for all the “principals” none of them have any will or desire to actually do something GOOD for the nation.
But hey, they can sit in their circles & pat themselves on the back for sharing the same “principals” while our nation continues to crumble.
Socialsm Sucks!
If the “freedom” caucus opposes the majority of Trump’s agenda, then their fraud will be more than just a little exposed because his agenda is conservative.
This is why they don’t oppose Trump more.
Lots of disinformation being spewed here about them.
Never thought I’d see the day that Free Republic would become the cheering section for RINOs.
