Health Reform: For a week now, the conservative House Freedom Caucus has been taking hits for derailing the Republican effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare. But why are moderate/liberal Republicans who refused to support the bill getting a free pass?
The Freedom Caucus was the most vociferous in its opposition to the American Health Care Act or at least its criticisms of the bill attracted the most attention.
The Wall Street Journal editorial page blamed the group, calling it the "Freedom-From-Reality Caucus." CNN reported that "its members are Public Enemy No. 1 on Capitol Hill."
President Trump went so far as to tweet that "The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!"
The truth is that nobody knows for sure who would have voted against the bill since House Speaker Paul Ryan pulled it from the floor before a vote was cast.
However, IBD examined two lists compiled by NBC News and Heavy.com of those who had publicly stated that they were leaning or definite "no" votes on the American Health Care Act. Combining the two lists, it adds up to 44 Republicans who could have cast "no" votes if they'd had the chance.
Of those, only 18 are members of the Freedom Caucus.

The freedom caucus was and is nothing but talk.
Requirements for being in the “freedom” caucus:
1. be good at talking the talk
2. have good establishment potential
3. be terrified of the democrats
Because it doesn’t fit the narrative. We must blame the conservatives for doing such a horrible, unthinkable thing: defending liberty and standing on principles.
Requirements for being a Ryanite Establishment psuedocon (like many on this site):

If it was.
No difference between liberal republicans and “freedom” caucus.
Good question, more liberal Republicans (Democrats in R jerseys) were running away from Ryancare as there were conservatives opposed to it.
But we have to eliminate conservatives from Congress..../s
A lot of Freepers have latched onto a notion that President Trump attacked the FG and therefore he attacked conservatives.
But I understand the FC is half made up of #NeverTrumpers.
In all likelihood, the President was likely directing his fire at Cruz Bot NeverTrumpers.
OTOH my own logic direction is confounded because the Ryancare AHCA was a turd to begin with.
We’ll revisit this battle again with the CINC leading the way.
No difference between liberal republicans and “freedom” caucus.
No difference between liberal republicans and freedom caucus.

There is no reason in your faith in Ryancare.
Repeal Obamacare (and Obama)
don’t replace it with Ryancare or anything else. Not the fed govt’s job to mess with individual health care and decisions of Americn citizens.
Repeal, darnit!

“We must blame the conservatives for doing such a horrible, unthinkable thing: defending liberty and standing on principles.”
Allowing Obamacare to continue suggests a set of principals I find repugnant.
Your reason has left you
Why would we want to blame anyone for a GOOD outcome?
Ryancare would have made big government healthcare stay, and I’m happy that the Freedom Caucus saved us from it.
Freedom caucus = establishment congressmen pretending to be otherwise. Plus a couple sincere members who can’t see the forest for the trees.
Ryancare was to PRESERVE Obamacare, not end it.
Why aren’t Democrats, who claim that they’ve been trying for years to fix problems with ObamaCare, properly assigned blame for not helping fix the problem they had to pass to find out what the problems were inside?
