This was an extremely stupid Trump move. Rinos are not going to be the ones to back Trump when the dems move for impeachment, they are too tied to the deep state that wants Trump gone.

The only real tool Trump has in Washington are the conservatives who love the Constitution and want to restore the Republic not wishy-washy rinos who follow the dem agenda.

I agree with Hannity and Dobbs.

What I disagree with is Rush’s idea that Trump supporters are zombie supporters of the man who don’t care how destructive and legislation he pushes now that he’s in office.

Did you read the amendment... I did.. it isn’t a lie, it’s a really powerful fact. So you would march veterans to the VA gulag and give non citizens top treatment? How is that not, big govt? Giving the neediest veterans as much access to choice as non citizens is big govt? On what planet?

No it doesn’t. It depends on what they have been doing for the past 2 years in standing up for lots of liberty/free market/conservative issues. They were largely responsible for getting rid of Boehner.

If you are on the opposite side of Jim Jordan, Dave Brat, Raul Labrador and Louis Gohmert you are one the wrong side.

Freedom Caucus is a mixed bag. I’m not gonna support anyone simply for being part of it, but regardless this bill needed to fail the way it was written and presented, so they did a favor here. I love Trump but feel he is the one listening to bad advice.

Ryan is on the Soros payroll. Trump talks of loyalty. He needs to make sure he is loyal to those that fought for him, of which Ryan is NOT one. Ryan backstabs him and now Trump is working with him? Personally, I believe Ryan wants nothing more than to derail Trump and make sure he fails.

On one hand, I'm glad they (FC) helped defeat Obamicare Lite. I can't be overly angry with the likes of Gehmert who stood by his convictions.

On the other hand, as you've mentioned, there are many in the FC ranks who were/are "never Trumpers"! Time for those dirty b*st*rds to get on board and help us get out of the malaise that Bowbama, and the democrats, left us with.

Also, mentioned a few times on our board: Where were these FC members when it came to stopping Obama? Nowhere to be found!

There, you have it.
You've identified your own problem, ... not facing reality!

How many times did Trump meet with the Freedom Caucus ?
What did the Freedom Caucus say ?
Read parts of the article again: In my opinion, Trump did not know or, for that matter, really care about all the details in that Bill.
All Trump cared about was, that his name was going to be attached to that Bill, and anything with his name on it ... MUST ... ABSOLUTELY MUST ... be a WINNER !

But what was the percentage of the United States Citizens who actually voted in that election?
And how does that percentage change your point.
There were higher percentages of Black and other races that voted for Trump than in other elections, mostly because of their disgust with the whole system ignoring their voice.

I see nothing in there that says Trump was ignorant of what was in the RyanCare deal.

Would you push something that you’d never even looked at?

I got to tell you this was the best Rush column I have ever seen.
Trump is a pragmatist. He wants to get things done for the American people, more things that can be done in 8 years. Get in his way, it’s the highway. How the hell else is anything going to get done? By jawing some more?

Did I like the healthcare bill. Hell no, did I voice my disapproval, you better bet I did. But I trusted that if it were passed it would be changed enough that we could get to a free market healthcare system and a limited saftey net or Trump wouldn’t sign it.

Ryan cares about "appearances" and doesn't want it to APPEAR that he's stabbing Trump in the back.
But Ryan wants nothing more than to destroy Trump and the Conservatives at the same time.

Thank you very much for the run down. I appreciate the work in posting. Food for thought and research. I was pleased to see that the few who present as hacks are more than balanced by some nuanced thinkers.

I don’t think he is busting up his coalition.
Trump kicks a lot of anthills and sits back to wait for opportunity. This man is serious about changing Washington and he is playing hardball.

Trump isn’t going to get everything done but he’s going to move us in the right direction. We can mop up and continue in a more precise matter 9 years from now. That’s the real goal post.

Freedom Caucus was playing by the old rules and posturing. They got dinged. I’m hoping they will get serious and get into the fray of making the best move toward reigning back Government involvement in healthcare that we can get passed.

Your trust is misplaced.

Read what Rush's article Scenarios and Theories: What Happened on Friday? And What Happens Next? from Mar 27, 2017.
He covered the subject very well ... of how he perceived what Trump and his administration's strategy is.
(That article really is worth your time, even though it's very long.)
Let's go three quarters of the way into that article.
SO, what I think is ... the Freedom Caucus, Mark Meadows and his gang are the path to FREEDOM from that disaster that ObamaCare is,
and RyanCare was only going to make it worse !
Trump was "MAKING A DEAL" and we, the citizens of the United States, were going to get screwed !
Just THANK GOD that the Freedom Caucus, Mark Meadows and his gang SAVED US from that disaster !

Trump had to forgive and ally with either the Ryno opposition or the Freedom Cacaus opposition.

On Obamacare, he chose the wrong Rino.

How so? There are nearly 200 Ryan RINO’s. Only 30 or so HFC goobers.

As Rush correctly pointed out - Trump is not an Ideologue. He’s going where the numbers are.

For the 1 millionth time, we don’t have the 60 votes required in the senate.

And for the millionth and oneth time, stop repeating that lie!

Time will give us more data to work with. The FC is a mixed bag and whether or not they saved us or even whether the whole drama is playing out a scenario worked out behind the scenes by principals is something I don’t believe we will ever know.

If Trump were more interested in the deal than the specifics it would be because having a deal let him get another part of his agenda in place, gave him leverage to accomplish his tasks. Trump stated that he would not sign a final bill that he did not feel would advance the free market system and saftey net approach he outlined during the campaign. I believe him, you do not.

I think that because he is playing hardball he is shaking up the trees and we will see lots of angst but in the end we will have actual useful legislation come out of Congress rather than the gridlock and partisan trash we have seen. In the mean time he is defunding fluff, cutting regulations and putting Americans back to work. I tend to trust a man like than.
