"The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!" - Donald Trump
Big mistake. Freedom Caucus merely reflected what the average voter indicated they wanted when Trump was elected.
That snake from the swamp Paul Ryan is trying to separate Trump from the people who support him most while undermining his credibility as a President.
Paul Ryan has to go. If a one term Democrat is the price, we should pay it.
His version of Ryancare was warmed over Obamacare with another name. More flim-flamming by the worst snake in the House. John McCain’s equivalent.
I myself tried to call this Ryan-Care as well.
But Trump went a long way with that tweet in ‘owning’ that stink bomb by lashing out at the uber-majority of the conservative/patriotic base.
That’s what the Freedom Caucus respresents.
Trump is not a rorschach test. He’s a tweeter who tweets outrageous and self contradictory things. He suffers from tweetourettes.
Thanks for posting.
Do you know the names of the RINO’s who are Never Trumpers?
It's a good day for centrists.
It's a good day for establishment RINOs such as Ryan and McConnell.
Everybody enjoy it.
You’re the second person to say this on this thread (someone later said the same thing, claiming also LS said the same thing on his Twitter feed)
May I ask for the source for this claim please (that the FC got basically what they wanted from negotiations with Trump and the Ryan camp but the FC ended up renigjng on the deal)?
And what I’m really looking for is some reports that says specifically, “the FC were given assurances that the mandate requiring those with preexisting conditions be guaranteed insurances would be gone in phase ONE”.
Because anything less is Obamacare lite. Make no mistake.
I don’t see his tweet as an “attack” on anyone, he just wants the Freedom Caucus and the Republicans united to fight the Democrats. Everyone is getting all twisted up on this, when it is more of a nothingburger.
The only possible issue Trump may have is that he might have believed he had a deal with the Freedom Caucus and they moved the goal posts. I don’t know if that is accurate, some have speculated it.
The Freedom Caucus already told Hannity publicly on radio that they were shut out of the process completely. Sorry.
I hope you recall how enthusiastic I was about Trump. Heck, I’ve been proud of a thread I titled: ‘The Trump Revolution’.
But now I’m alarmed.
Ask Paul Ryan. That was his bill. Trump was unwise to get behind it; if Trump wants to see who made a fool out of him, he can look in the mirror.
Also, I expect some sort of deal on health care to emerge within the next week as a brokered compromise between the Freedom Caucus and the more moderate members of the caucus. I have said this before and I will say it again - the repeal of Obamacare will require numerous bills over a number of years. Essentially, it will be death by a thousand cuts.
The political reality is that there are a bunch of RINO wimps in Congress who will not vote for a full repeal. So we have to tear out organs of Obamacare piecemeal until it essentially is dead.
Agree completely. The Dems would never have done something similar. They eventually come in line with few or no defections. This is called using your governing majority. Instead, the Reps form a circular firing squad. It extends to so many other areas beyond healthcare. We have Graham and McCain going after Nunes and Trump. They provide the Dems and the MSM to ammunition to call the opposition to Trump bipartisan.
It’s pretty clear the freedom caucus and never Trumpers have little interest in actually governing. If you break it, you own it comes to mind. Of course they have no health care bill with any hope of passing the House.
His tweet paints them as a bunch of uncrompromising wacko kooks.
He needs to clarify and narrow his criticism and quickly.
I’ll be tuning into Hannity to hopefully clear this mess up.
I support F.C. You don’t compromise with communists.

Youre joking, right? The FC personally handed Trump the biggest defeat of his presidency so far and embarrassed him badly in the process. Havent you been out of the conservative bubble at all since this debacle happened?
Good luck with that. The freedom caucus dupes are serially unable to connect the dots.
these guys are never trumpers. No one supported him because he was backed by the FC
Again, the advice right now is DON'T PANIC.
Trump deserves a chance to learn before final judgement is rendered.
I agree that he should not attack the Freedom Caucus. No need to air out disagreements with your own caucus over twitter. Goad the Dems and libs on twitter, do everything with Republicans privately.
Trump support is a coalition of sovereignty loving conservatives and centrists.
Those conservatives identify with the Freedom Caucus. It's a dumb thing to do to tick off half your coalition.
Most of the HFC were members of NeverTrump, and were working for Hillary to win.
No they weren't.
