Since Donald Trump took office and dubbed his Florida estate the "Winter White House," local authorities have been demanding he reimburse the county for the high cost of his visits.
Now, they say he should pay up or just stop coming

It’s trumps fault... he should have gone to Martha’s Vinyard

Did they interview people on Oahu or Martha’s Vineyard when the Obama Clan touched down?
Palm Beach County, is as liberal as it gets politically, so, when it whines, it means nothing, and has no impact!!!
Fact is the Trump visits to Florida bring mega bucks into the local economy of Palm Beach county!!! Oh well, the Democrat, liberal idiots and fools are not too bright, upstairs!!!
Trump works 10+ hours a day, 7 days a week. He needs as much relaxation as he can get.
Every other weekend at most...and he links it to a meeting or rally at another Southern location.
Did they do that weekly?
Can’t the local government just say no? In the immigration fight they are saying that the federal government can’t force the state and local government to do anything, how is this different?
I also think that either the secret service requirements or local decisions and/or the estimates being used for additional costs are wrong. How had the fire department racked up $1.7 million for 5 weekends?
If I divide 1.7 million by $50/per hour (assumption on average wage for firefighter or paramedic) I get 34,000 hours. If you take the five weekends that he has been there estimating 96 hours of duty time for those visits that needs to be filled, that works out to at least 70 additional people working each weekend.
1.7 million/50 = 34000/480 (hours in 5 4 day weekend) = 70.83 personnel around the clock for 4 days. There are probably some additional costs for operation of equipment but that should be negligible.
I call BS.
And in the winter.
Yet odumbo and his family regularly traveled the world on our dime and not a word was said about the $70+ million those trips cost, not to mention the ‘official’ campaigning jaunts he took to play golf. What the whiners are mad about is Trump is NOT spending any money nor contributing to the local economy while they forget about all the money spent by Trump's supporting staff. Let them whine.
The Kennedy Compound on Palm Beach was more disruptive to traffic flow when Kennedy was in office. Mar a Lago is less difficult to control as it is virtually on the exit of a bridge. Too many Neu Yawkers in P.B. now. Not the same place it used to be.
Complaining like they did when the O entourage went all over the globe?
So much butt hurt, still! If Trump stayed away they would whine that they were being shunned. Trump can do no good with Hillary supporters. Might as well accept that and get on with making America great again!
If memory serves, one, uh woman, used to stand in a ditch outside the place...
How she got smoothies delivered to her in that ditch I have no idea...
Does one think Texas would really “cuck-a-doodle-doo” if this were in one its urban area(s)?
If it was a weekly event and was costing the city and county millions in extra expenses and the businesses in the area hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue then yes, I expect that they would be complaining. Texas or no.
I guess those snowflakes would much rather see the entire POTUS clan travel to Mexico, each person in a different jet with their own security detail, reserving an entire hotel for a couple of weeks, all at taxpayer expense? After all, we heard not one complaint from the LSM about the O’DumDum’s family’s extravagances, did we?
Trump didn’t dub it the Winter WH, the original owner did. Perhaps these so called reporters need to research just a wee little bit before they repeat lies.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar-a-Lago - is an estate and National Historic Landmark in Palm Beach, Florida, built from 1924 to 1927 by heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post. Post envisioned the house as a future winter retreat for American presidents and foreign dignitaries, and following her death in 1973, it was bequeathed to the nation. However, successive presidents declined to use the mansion, which was returned to Post’s estate in 1980 and in 1985 was purchased by Donald Trump, later 45th President of the United States.
Few probably remember Lyndon Johnson had the tax payers build an airport sufficient to handle Air Force One on his Ranch.
