White House staff plan on skipping this year's White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner in "solidarity" with President Trump, who has announced he won't attend the annual event this year, the organization announced Tuesday evening.
WHCA President Jeff Mason said the organization's board "regrets this decision very much."
We have worked hard to build a constructive relationship with the Trump White House and believe strongly that this goal is possible even with the natural tension between the press and the administration that is a hallmark of a healthy republic," Mason said in a statement.
Trump announced last month he would not appear at this years WHCA dinner, a break with past presidents.
"Please wish everyone well and have a great evening! Trump tweeted at the time.
Organizers for the annual dinner said the April 29 event would proceed as planned, despite Trump's absence.

I bet the baseball season will get along fine without their traditional opening pitch by the President.
My I suggest Katherine Zeta Jones as a substitute?

How can at least half of the people in this country begin to respect these people when their natural response to everything is to LIE in your face, knowing that you know they are fake through and through. They are an arm of the Progressive party, notice I say “Progressive,” because they are beyond the ideology of plain old traditional Democrats. That party was not after tyranny. These people are after tyranny and are willing to do whatever it takes to bring it about. They are the real danger to our Republic and President Trump did exactly the right thing not to go to their little soiree. Rush Limbaugh often points out that you cannot give these ogres one inch of good faith, for they will distort it and try their best to skewer you with your good intentions. DO NOT TRUST THEM!
This huge lie, alone, is reason enough to skip this stupid event. Why should this (or any) president debase himself in front of a room full of people who hate him?

Hilarious! Reminds me of Baghdad Bob.
We are not close. We are already in a civil war -- one that, while not yet fully boiling over, is definitely no longer cold. If the Left keeps on the same trajectory they've been on, those of us on the Right will have only two choices: totally capitulate or openly fight back.
Amen
the fight must draw blood. If the resistance is shoddy, they will come back and win
But I don't think all is lost. In a SHTF situation, I think they will come up to speed rather quickly. I still remember my Marine Corps boot camp where soft civilians who were still living with their parents were transformed into warriors in 11 weeks. Not only were they expert with M16 rifles and hand grenades but they were sewing buttons on shirts and making their beds so tight you could bounce a quarter on it. Human beings are very adaptable.
This will make them look very foolish to be snarking and talking trash about people not there to defend themselves. The entire pretense of “roasts” is that you may say comic insults about people in the room, but you say them to their face, and they can then respond with similar good-natured banter. But civility is never enough for Democrats.
