At least some Republicans are honest about not wanting to repeal Obamacare
Conservative Review ^ | 03/28/2017 | Daniel Horowitz

Earlier today, a couple of Republican officials, in a refreshing display of honesty, admitted what we have known all along: They don’t want to repeal Obamacare. Even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R,Ky.) admitted there won’t be another attempt:

"Mcconnell making clear Obamacare repeal efforts dead. "We have the existing law in place and we'll just have to see how that works out.""

— Erica Werner (@ericawerner) March 28, 2017

He’s certainly come a long way from his 2014 campaign promise to repeal Obamacare “root and branch” and his 2013 CPAC speech in which he said “anybody who thinks we’ve moved beyond it is dead wrong.”

Paul Ryan a year ago:

“But here’s the thing. The idea that Obamacare is the law of the land for good is a myth. This law will collapse under its own weight, or it will be repealed. Because all those rules and procedures Senate Democrats have used to block us from doing this? That’s all history,” he added. “We have now shown that there is a clear path to repealing Obamacare without 60 votes in the Senate. So, next year, if we’re sending this bill to a Republican president, it will get signed into law.”

Obamacare is now on par with Social Security and Medicare: a 3rd rail to the establishment.

Those Rinos who want to save Obamacare need to come clean and admit it.

The Lying Has To Stop! If you don’t support repeal, then you go on record and say “I will not support repeal of Obamacare”.

Those who want Obamacare to become permanent law must wear it and they will have to face their constituencies with their scarlet letters prominently displayed.

And yet they’ll run on repealing it in the midterms. Yes, they think we’re that stupid.

That is very interesting.

Since they really cannot run on that platform again - repealing Obamacare.

Unless, you are correct. We will see....

One of my favorite stories on the Republican leadership.

From Cruz’s book......

On leadership corruption and sellout......

That Tuesday lunch began with our leadership [McConnell] saying, “We’re asking every Republican senator here, to affirmatively consent to lower the threshold for Harry Reid to take up the debt ceiling, from 60 votes to 50 votes. And we were told, everyone of you should agree for two reasons.

Number one, if we do this, it will happen, and hallelujah, hallelujah, that’s what we want. We want trillions more in debt with no spending reforms, because we’re scared of this issue. We don’t want to have a political fight on this.

But number two, if we do this, the Democrats will have the votes to do it on their own, which means all of us Republicans can vote no. And we can go home and tell our constituents, we opposed the thing we just consented to allow happen.

Now, I was sitting there — to be honest, I hadn’t gone to lunch intending to pick a fight, but as I listened to that, I was astonished and I raised my hand, and I said, “There’s no universe in which I can consent to doing that. I spent two years campaigning across Texas, telling Texas, if you elect me, I’ll fight with every breath in my body to stop the out of control spending and debt that are bankrupting our kids and grandkids.”

If were to do that, I think it would be both dishonest and unfaithful to the men and women who elected me.

I think the established Republicans, including Ryan and McConnell, are only giving lip service to supporting Pres. Trump and biding their time until they can re-assume power. That’s why I’ll bet every Trump initiative will stall in Congress.

Yep! They were lying to get your vote. Follow the insurance and healthcare profits to get at the truth. The last thing they want is competition.

Of course. As with most laws, congress exempted itself from Obamacare. Why should congress care if your premiums are $1,200 per month with a $6,000 copay?

Thank you for referencing that article ForYourChildren. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Patriots are reminded that the fact that some RINOs want to keep Obamacare is constitutionally meaningless.

More specifically, regardless what lawless Obama’s state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices want everybody to think about Obamacare, consider that the Founding States effectively “repealed” Obamacare by not expressly constitutionally delegating to Congress the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes. This is evidenced by the excerpts below, most excerpts from the writings of previous generations of state sovereignty-respecting Supreme Court justices.

Regarding the constitutionality of the Obamacare insurance mandate for example, note the fourth entry in the list below from Paul v. Virginia. The excerpt clarifies that regulating insurance is not within the scope of Congress’s Commerce Clause powers (1.8.3), regardless if the parties negotiating the insurance policy are domiciled in different states.

Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!

Remember in November ’18 !

Since Trump entered the ’16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the ’18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.

Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.

Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February ‘18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.

While I Googled the primary information above concerning Iowa and New Hampshire, FReeper iowamark brought to my attention that the February primaries for these states apply only to presidential election years. And after doing some more scratching, since primary dates for most states for 2018 elections probably haven’t been uploaded at this time (March 14, 2017), FReepers will need to find out primary dates from sources and / or websites in their own states.

Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.

Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed above.

McConnell, Ryan and the RINOs have no intention of repealing Obamacare.
They are the attendants of Fedzilla and Fedzilla derives great power from controlling all health care decisions and medical records.
They will try to preserve as much of Obamacare as they possibly can to preserve that power for Fedzilla.
They serve Fedzilla, not the citizens.

Obamacare is now on par with Social Security and Medicare: a 3rd rail to the establishment.

Maybe, but I see this a little differently. It was easy to con people about Social Security and Medicare because their insolvency and personal financial impacts were years/decades in the future.

Obamacare is failing before our very eyes -- and it's very expensive for people RIGHT NOW.

“Maybe, but I see this a little differently. It was easy to con people about Social Security and Medicare because their insolvency and personal financial impacts were years/decades in the future.”

The problem is that politicians like McConnell and Ryan are only thinking about the midterm elections in 2018 (short term), and are scared to death that pulling an entitlement away from people will cost them those elections, and thus power. It’s always about power and what the MSM will write about them.

The Ryan quote about we have a clear path to repealing Obamacare without 60 votes . . . was in a speech he gave January last year after both the Senate and House passed a bill.

The bill did NOT fully repeal it. It did what his current bill did. It defunded “many of the core features” of Obamacare. Go to House.gov and find the articles about the legislation. It was not some one sentence thing saying the entire original bill is null and void. It defunded core features. Just like the current bill.

The clear path . . . was because it was done through Reconciliation in the Senate one month prior.

You guys and these right wing blogs . . . they are feeding you fake news. Go look up the actual legislation, or the articles. The one particularly I’m quoting was in the Washington Examiner, a conservative paper. “Many of the core features”. There was no full repeal.
