The Senate voted this week to abolish a rule restricting certain hunting practices on national wildlife refuges in Alaska including trapping, baiting and aerial shooting of animals like wolves and grizzly bears.

Alaska Ping
Good to see the Senate tackling the tough issues before taking their six week Easter recess
Bear,yummy
You missed Alaska Wolf.
Opps, Thank You!
See how important voting is. Without a Republican majority people in Alaska wouldn’t be able to shoot wolves from a Copter.
These rules were some of those last minute regulations the Obama Administration never bothered to run past Congress. Not sure whether they even went into effect yet. It was a power grab from the state’s right to control hunting and fishing in Alaska and the state was getting ready to challenge it in court. Cancelling them saved everyone money.
The poor young’n, wolf-ette, is probably knee deep in Reggie/Barry rump pics right about now.
The Senate is worthless so it is better that they are out of town and can do no more harm to the country.
Question to all:
I’m not a hunter though members of my family are (overpopulation deer and feral pigs).
Is the use of traps (which to me are extremely cruel), baiting (mixed opinions on this method) and shooting game from a helicopter really “hunting” instead of the old find, stalk and kill mercifully?
Would like to hear from hunters on this. Thanks.
Oh, are Grizzlies an over-population animal in the Alaskan refuges and a thinning of the population a healthy practice?
When the debt limit comes up in a few weeks they will say you have to increase it because we are out of time because we spent our time voting on Grizzly bear scat
Sounds good! The big Bear monsters are all over up here! New recipes are always welcome!
Is this an attack on Sarah Palin?
Make sure the onions are caramelized.
I bought a lifetime bag of bay leaves at a market, cheaper than the bottle of 10 or whatever leaves at the grocery store.
Not if she likes to eat.
The bill was for controlled hunting, to lower the population or remove dangerous specimens. I looked it up when Facebook blew up over it earlier this week.
