Couldn’t they just let it sunset, and when it runs out of money

They could do a lot of things like not lie about actually wanting to keep what the have and only change a few names of the cr@ppy parts.

I believe they have never wanted to repeal it, but they wanted the illusion of resealing it, all the while leading us down into the Single Payer rat hole.

If they had really wanted to kill it they would defunded it 4 years ago but they didn't. Want to know why we still fund abortions, NPR, NEA or FDE, because they want to keep it funded else they would be gone. They only want to rail against those thing around election time when it doesn't matter.

The economy will now continue to stutter because protected politicians who are bought off think of themselves instead of the country.
Remove obamacare and the economy will come back to life!

But with socialized medicine where is the profit for these companies?

I would figure it would be the other way around.

The Alzheimer thing is great but I read a study that showed some people with pretty bad plaque and amaloid deposits after they died and they were fine while alive.

Could just be the exceptions to the rule.

Like with smoking.

As far the DNA pill, who wouldn’t want to get that for their parents?!?!?! ALL OF US WOULD.

There’s a fortune there because i would buy it for my 84 year old mother even if it wasn’t covered by health insurance.

But i assume she’ll be about 91 if/when it gets approved here.

And I wonder if the govt would frown on and try to crush such a pill.

"When it explodes, they come to us and we make one beautiful deal," Trump told the Washington Post's Robert Costa in a phone interview shortly after House leadership pulled the American Health Care Act in the face of conservative opposition.

He called this one a beautiful deal and couldn't get the Republicans to pass it. What makes him think that the Democrats would ever be willing to join him on this?

...be ready with a well-crafted replacement?

Isn't that what they just tried?

That means they were a striking 12 votes short.

I know opinions are like a-holes, everybody’s got one but here is mine. Trump, the “artist” of “deals” KNEW it was highly unlikely that Ryan and his insurance lobbyist controllers had the votes and he knew it would die in the corrupt Senate in any event. So, not wanting to appear an obstructionist, or beat his head against a wall, he played along when what he really wants is for Obambicare to just die it’s natural death whereupon he will be able to honor his Double R promise (i.e. Repeal & Replace).

Obamacare was set up to fail. And fail it will. Someone will get stuck with the mess. And the country continues it’s march left.

One payer is coming

This is war. Time for the nuclear option for Gorsuch.

Rebubs can’t unify on anything so they will loose in the future. This law will never ever be repealed. We are now stuck with it thanks to Cruz and lee. Purists.

As I wrote, the next deal is with the Democrats and then the freedom caucus votes will not matter.

If you are right, then Trump is not the man we thought he was, not the man we thought we were electing, and not a man who honors his campaign promises to repeal. I think better of him than that, and will give him the benefit of the doubt. I'll wait to see what rolls out before I judge him harshly. I still believe "he gets it".

Considering that we have reached the debt ceiling once again, its not inconceivable that Congress will simply pass another massive f'ing "one size fits all" budget which, as in the past, will fund Obamacare for the foreseeable future.

Hell, they (the Repubos) under both Boehner and Ryan supported this funding in the past. They remain too scared to "shut down the government"; and Mitch is simply a coward in these matters.

The Congress will keep funding this piece of crap Obamacare and also bail out the entire healthcare insurance industry ad nauseum forever.

Meanwhile, people who are not subsidized will bear the brunt of the fiasco with ever rising premiums and $5000 to $10,000 deductibles. The only thing that is going to crash is the economy. And when the smoke clears, the public will be clamoring for single payer!

Nice analysis, Cen-Tejas. You're right. Trump is too savvy to buy into a GOPe plan. Gee, I wonder how much profit the Healthcare Insurance companies made over the past 5 years. Look at these charts from Google Finance.

Obama care died today....... hereinafter it is Conservacare

Stuffit bert, they saved the Presidency. RyanCare kept all the worst of ObmaCare and raised Premiums by 75% over the next 2 years after which they promised we could get a 10% cut over the next 10 years. That was an insane bill written by the same lobbyists that wrote the last one.

Your premiums and deductibles will be cheaper and you’ll have better insurance. It will be so beautiful”

It will be medicare(Single Payer in disguise) for all except Government bureaucrats and the rich.

.........you nail it with these charts! Over the shelf life of the next iteration of a National Health Care Plan Trillions will transfer from the pockets of Americans to Insurance Companies and so the Insurance Companies pay hundreds of millions to guys like Ryan and other congress critters to make sure as many billions transfer to their pocket as they can force to happen. Never in human history have so many billions ridden on one vote. And, that’s why it failed.

“What makes him think that the Democrats would ever be willing to join him on this?”

In time, in fact a very short time (this year), Obamacare is going to crash and burn. The Dems will then cut a deal to save as much of it as they can. The Freedom Caucus outfoxed themselves.

Right, and the thing is, the Democrats are powerless. In the off chance they have good ideas, use them. Otherwise, screw them. But what Trump will get credit for is being willing to “listen”. And in the meantime the Republicans can work up a real Obamacare replacement that isn’t a disaster.

They will pick who live forever. If they had the chance.

Not to go too off topic, but I was close to death in the ICU after a head injury about 10 years ago or so.

I remember feeling close to death and it was so “relaxing” and it seemed like the most natural thing in the world and nothing to fear at all.

It’s part of nature. It’s part of the plan.

But then I lived :)
