I agree, I would like to have them on record too.
But it’s not like everyone in the whole friggin’ world doesn’t know already that they are liars.
Dp0622....
I got a call somewhere around 2010-2011 from one of my tea-party gnomes. I trust him, and he noted he heard from someone from within one of the big-3 and the whole 18 to 26 thing was costing them a fortune, but they didn't dare go public with it aka Obama, going after them. Before that, they could buy a high deductible catastrophic policy on campus and on the low end their is always clinics etc on campus for colds, flu etc ( gee just like a HSA w/ a Direct Primary Care Plan, but let that go...) Note Obama had to destroy all low cost plans and other options to funnel us into the collapse to devolve into a Canadian Style system. He couldn't have the policies on Campus, as we all now have to get this Blue Cross Blue Shield on Steroids high end plan ( that is what it is, essentially ) aka "The Qualified Plan"
On Pre-exisiting....
Covering them is not Insurance, by definition insurance is to cover for catastrophic loss, by throwing everyone in the pool Obama essentially violated separation of Church and State, this is a function of faith and religious intuitions, i.e. grace and unmerited favor, donating to someone in need is good, adding them by Gov't mandate? No way. Ironically, before Obamacare, after a wait period with an underwriter, they might have insured you.
We are starting to come to grips with how badly Obama ****ed up our health care system, it is enough to make you scream....
Starting to think that Trump’s endgame. And it will pass. Look at how popular Medicare is.
If you do nothing, nothing will happen and it won’t die on its own just because you wish it so. It is killing a lot of us now, what more do you want? They need to move this forward or nothing will get done.
This is March in Year 1 of the Trump Administration. How can time be up? It’s that kind of thinking that got us in this mess.
Ryan got one bite at the apple on “market reforms.”
Trump has openly praised single payer in the past. There is no earthly reason he would oppose the type of modified single payer that a public option would impose.
And as someone inside the industry, I’m telling you the insurance companies and hospitals would line up to support it. Their logic is always “break even” on government plans and make money on private plans. If you turn the money losers that the high deductible plans are for everyone into “break even,” the industry will line up to kiss your feet. And NO ONE in this industry is opposed to a government payout.
Repeal the Affordable Health Care Act, Obamacare, in toto, one fell swoop, and start over.
Free Market across state lines competitive Health Insurance Plans.
Start Health Savings accounts.
For now, continue Medicaid, Medical and Medicare.
For all remaining people, go to public county clinics or, as last resort, to ER.
PS
They would oppose Medicare for All because the carriers and the hospitals need the private payers.
It would be a different landscape than before.
If the state boundaries were eliminated, and companies were able to create risk pools that were much larger, wouldn't they be able to amortize that cost across a much larger contributor base?
Granted that healthy people (without pre-existing conditions) would be in different risk pools, but couldn't a pre-existing risk pool be made viable if the pool were large enough, even accepting that their premiums would be higher than healthy risk pools?

Strategy? Where?
If the “strategy” is to let Obamacare come apart on its own, then the thing to do would be to pass straight repeal in the House, then let the Dems filibuster it to death in the Senate.
At least that way, when it comes apart, the Dems have owned it from beginning to end.
Now, who knows who owns it? This was Republican self-immolation.
Art, how do you propose to accomplish your step 1?
And like it or not, Mr. Trump is heading down a path toward a mixed public-private insurance/health care system. The day of completely private insurance/health care are over. There just aren’t enough right-wingers left.
People are saying they want the freedom to choose their doctor, pharmacy, and hospital. They don’t like insurance companies making decisions for them. The problem is that Ryan just can’t help himself. Anything that he does will provide generous profits to those who bought and paid for him.
Send the one page repeal to Trump like they did with Obama. I know the transition will be a mess, but people will be covered in the transition one way or another. They're not going to turn people away from the ER.
Yes. It is a vote of no confidence for Ryan.
He should resign.
I doubt he will.
Well, the purists got their way, and now we have Obamacare. If/when Obamacare goes under, the GOP might get the blame - especially if they fail to fund it. We don’t know what will happen in 2018 because if Republicans get blame for its failure or people feel they wasted their vote on Republicans because Republicans couldn’t govern and keep their promises, it may not get repealed then. If the Democrats get in, they’ll just shift goal posts to the left. Their goal is socialized medicine.
I take a big risk when I get sick or injured and it doesn't involve hospitalization. But I get to go where I choose.
There's no way insurance for us little folks is going to improve if there's a layer of insurance company profits built into it. I cannot figure out why it makes any sense at all to have insurance for routine expenses.
I agree.
Trump is going to support a public option before the 2018 elections. And it will pass easily. Thats going to be his Obamacare reform.
RIP freedom caucus. POTUS will work with Ryan now and steam roll them.
Yes, he should, and if he doesn’t, he should be tossed out on his ear.
This moron is WASTING OUR TIME WITH HIS BS!
Sorry for yelling, sick of RINOs.
I agree. Except I don’t think repeal would pass the Senate. But it would hang the albatross squarely on the shoulders of the Dems.
So, we would be where we are today with “Obamacare the law of the land,” but it would be because of the Dems obstruction, rather than Republican ineptness.
