Family-owned Haribo, which employs 7,000 people worldwide at 16 sites in ten countries, said on Thursday it has decided to acquire property in Wisconsin for the factory.

Haribo, a model of Germany's successful "Mittelstand" firms which make up the backbone of Europe's largest economy, was founded in 1920. It gave Germany one of its most famous advertising slogans, promising to make kids and adults happy.

“Question:
Will i get hiroshima out my bum hole only if i buy the 5lbs bag or can i buy the 3.53oz bag and still have the same outcome

Answer:
The ratio is prefectly balanced at 1lb per megaton of sphincter force. The 3.53oz bag is the more gentle Stinger Missile; while it would take approximately 1lb to achieve Hiroshima out your bum hole. The truly brave can eat the full five pounds to reach a sphincter core meltdown to match Chernobly, complete with evac…”

Haribo Gummy Bears have been my staple candy since I was a wee lad. I get a pack every few days and try to keep it away from the kids. We just finished a bag on the Shinkansen tonight. Great stuff.

The home of the AMC Pacer and the Renault Alliance is going to make gummy bears. What could go wrong?

I used to think these were godawful until I had a fresh one. Having a US factory should improve their shelf life.

I got introduced to these as a kid when I spent some time in Germany. I loved them but then they weren’t in the US when I came back. Glad to see they are now being produced here, although I hope quality isn’t impacted. There are all kinds of great candies and cookies from other countries that haven’t made it here yet.

I’ve always preferred Black Forest. Haribo bears are too chewy and bland.

When I was an Army brat living in Heidelberg, Germany, would walk with friends from Patrick Henry Village base housing to a candy store in nearby Eppelheim for fresh Gummi in various sizes & shapes (bears, watches, snakes, lizards) and sour sticks. Ruined me for life, can’t eat the packaged product — must be preservatives or other ingredients.

Seems like a trivial thing to be upset about. Nearly all men have a couple of idiosyncrasies that might seem funny or childish. I always assumed women love that kind of thing; eating gummy vitamins or drinking milk out of the carton or not using air freshener after dropping a deuce are totally inconsequential but it still gived gals something to "fix" about their man.
