Ultimatums are not how you do deals.
I call BS on this.
You obviously haven’t read this book or it was beyond your understanding.
LOL
Yes it is.
I do it all the time.
Fit my objectives and timeline or I just move on.
No need to get bogged down on one of objective.
Lots more to do...
Double Fake News!
Actually, ultimatums work quite well in the right circumstance. They do not work well if used repeatedly
So, suddenly Freepers believe WaPo?
Let it implode under it’s own weight. That will be obama and the dems legacy.
No one can blame Trump for not trying. Give him time.
I call BS on this.
Ain't done many deals have you.
Actually they are, when negotiating you let the other side know, your best offer is on the table take it or leave it, especially if you feel they are jerking you around and have no intention of following through.
It forces them to poop or get off the pot.
If the other side doesn’t believe you are willing to walk away you have absolutely no leverage. Politicians are too stupid to realize this, the minute you are unwilling to walk away and the other side knows it, you lose all leverage.
Problem is politicians are too stupid to realize, Trump will absolutely walk away.
Luaghable. More than half the major deals I’ve dealt with involved ultimatums. Then one side of the other backed down.
I guess you don't remember that he says you must always be prepared to walk away from a deal.
This bill will cost us the House and likely the Senate. It will also make this a 1 term Presidency. We can only hope the Freedom Caucus will save him from himself and Ryan.
I am so used to being lied to that if they didn't do it I would be shocked.
“Ultimatums are not how you do deals.
I call BS on this.”

I agree. Trump is not an idiot like Obama when Obama actually said “Don’t call my bluff!”. And Obama said that to much derision by FReepers and others.
Someone posted a Trump Tweet from several years ago talking about how you have to know when to walk away.
The willingness and ability to walk away from the table is the most powerful negotiating tool anybody ever has.
“Ultimatums are not how you do deals.”
No, he’s giving them fair notice that he’s going to cut his losses and move on, President Trump has much on his plate and he always said the other option is to keep obamacare and let it collapse.
Looks like he’s exercising that option.
Being willing to walk away and actually walking away are vital in deal making. I can't count the number of times I've walked away and wound up signing the deal.
It's exactly how deals get done.
