Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney made clear Thursday evening that President Donald Trump is done negotiating on the hotly-debated health care bill and wants a vote on Friday.
And, if the president doesn't get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on to other priorities, Mulvaney said according to a source in the room during the tense talks with GOP members.
The latest salvo comes after House Republican leaders abruptly postponed a planned vote on the GOP health care bill Thursday as they struggled to find sufficient support to pass it. GOP lawmakers had previously been told procedural votes on the bill will still be held tonight and that a full vote on the measure could take place Friday.

.... I thought the idea was to "Repeal Obamacare" Not polish up a turd.
.... My big fear here though is that Trump will become infected with the Schwartzenegger Syndrome. When Arnold first entered into office he came with both guns blazing like Mr. Tough Guy .... then the Democrats scuttled his first bill .... after that, totally dejected and neutered, he absolutely gave up and magically transformed into a classic textbook example of a Liberal Leftist RINO. The hope for change here in California died when that happened.
Not what I said. I said check back in 6 weeks to see if this affects Trump or Ryan.
It is Ryan who will lose.
Remember, the SENATE has a pure repeal bill introduced that is not part of the budget. This bill is a budget bill.
America first! Obamacare-lite is an unAmerican POS!
And he is handling them. Perfectly.
One of the things you have to do-—which conservatives have screamed about-—is “shut it down.” Be willing to walk away. Well, Trump is sure doing that. Let’s see who cries uncle first.
Who said “America First” first?
This is great. Dems and do nothing Republicans will own ObamaCare when it crashes and burns before the midterms.
I agree totally LS. Last night they had a DEAL!! It was the “writing of language”. Ryan scuttled this deal. They had it!! I was not in favor of the socialist deal but I can yield to real representative government!1 But that damned RYAN vetoed the DEAL!! Ryan was not elected nationally!!That arrogant F0cker is going down on TV in front of millions!!
(LS we have a real bombshell tomorrow— OBAMA CONSPIRED TO COMMIT FELONIES!!)
Now NBC News wouldn’t twist President Trump’s words would they?
Doesn’t sound like Trump...
If he doesn’t act on it, then what is it?
This bill or a straight up repeal both have a ton of issues. The system we had before Obamacare was terrible too - maybe you forgot that fed health spending went up 8.5% annually from 1998 to 2009 and was on track to bankrupt the fed gov. This bill is marginally better than ACA and a full repeal isn’t going to happen with the narrow senate and is only marginally better than this bill. Tax reform and regulatory reform can get done though but only once ACA is repealed. Also keep in mind once ACA is repealed, future changes will get dem votes too
well apparently if Trump doesn’t get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on.....and rightfully so. Nobody can say Trump didn’t try to get the republicans to get a decent healthcare “replacement”...they simply didn’t want to do the work....and still don’t.
Let Obamacare implode....and we’ll all go back to purchasing our own healthcare Insurance with “open border purchasing”
.... Meanwhile Trump can go after the healthcare costs..there’s no reason to pay Hospitals all the rates they charge except to cover those who don’t pay for their care , so either way we pay. But at least we have a choice.
Tweet your displeasure. We voted for him. Her serves at OUR pleasure. Tell him to keep his promise and repeal! I’m sure Lyin Ryan has fed him a bunch of lies about procedures, this is how we have to do things, etc. I’m very disappointed he’s believing that lying snake.
If you want free, you go where it’s offered. When you say they are excluded I’m not sure I follow. They can still exist, just not eligible for credits
So does this mean that, if this bill is tanked, and a more pro-freedom bill eventually reaches Trump’s desk, that Trump will veto it out of spite?
Thanks, LS-
your comments are always very reassuring.
RyanCare sure doesn’t look like a “replacement” to me.....they stripped it of everything that might have even remotely made a difference as i see it.
Trumps doing what he says he does in negotiating.....one you’ve given it all you can and it’s a no go...you walk away.
Say what? Voting tonight?
Wow.
“if the president doesn’t get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on to other priorities”
either way, vote or no vote, pass or no pass, President Trump will have reneged on one of his major campaign promises :(
Damn straight. Get a better bill.
