Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney made clear Thursday evening that President Donald Trump is done negotiating on the hotly-debated health care bill and wants a vote on Friday.
And, if the president doesn't get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on to other priorities, Mulvaney said according to a source in the room during the tense talks with GOP members.
The latest salvo comes after House Republican leaders abruptly postponed a planned vote on the GOP health care bill Thursday as they struggled to find sufficient support to pass it. GOP lawmakers had previously been told procedural votes on the bill will still be held tonight and that a full vote on the measure could take place Friday.

Are you serious??? Rand Paul and Mark Sanford created a much better bill than this crap sandwich that you’re backing.
Are you serious??? Rand Paul and Mark Sanford created a much better bill than this crap sandwich that you’re backing.
Could you repeat that, please, heh?
Oh, wait.
There isn't going to be any bill sent to the senate.
There isn't going to be ANY bill on ocare, ever.
No matter how many tines you say it, Ryancare does not repeal Obamacare. Obamacare is unconstitutional and the only solution is for the Republicans to repeal it, rip it out by the roots and salt the ground so it can never rise again. Ryancare is simply new federal government root stock just as unconstitutional as the former. It’s not a constitutionally acceptable replacement and never will be.
Lyin’ Ryan and his globalist GOPe comrades are bought and paid for bottom feeding swamp dwellers.
Let that sink in.
But it makes some small progress and Trump thinks progress is important, as do I.
Obamacare is a Gordian Knot that cannot be cut w/ an ax, it must be removed in stages. Alexander died shortly after axing the Gordian Knot. If not we strand millions w/o any insurance whatsoever; that is suicide.
I believe momentum is important and I think a defeat for Trump now will be harmful to the broader platform.
Our enemies are united, we won't win anything if we are divided.
But, let’s say the crap sandwich gets over to the Senate instead. Then, there will be the same pressure to pass the crap sandwich that you see in the House. I don’t see any good coming from passing the crap sandwich.
Hopefully, on the other hand, an actual compromise between the Freedom Caucus and the Tuesday Caucus can be hammered out that at least partially repeals Obamacare, rather than keeping nearly all of it. I can live with that.
As far as the repealing in three parts goes, if the crap sandwich gets passed into law, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for Parts II and III. The Parts propaganda sounds like a bait-and-switch to me.
If the rule is that in order to repeal the law 60 votes are required, and the fact of the matter is that there are only 52 GOP senators, and a good number of them herd like cats, how could anyone who can count ever think there an even an outside chance of outright repeal of this monstrous act?
Back in 2010 the `rats had 59 senators and squeaked passage with the help of an independent. All 39 GOP senators voted against.
President Trump’s EOs do away with the mandate and penalties and he orders the Treasury dept. to not pay over one dime in subsidies to it or to health care for illegals. Let Obamacare twist in the wind.
When Democrats are in charge, yes....
In this case, the bolder we become with the Reconciliation ruling, the better the Bill will get.
Give it a chance
There will never be Parts II or III if you don’t get Part I.
“When Democrats are in charge, yes....
In this case, the bolder we become with the Reconciliation ruling, the better the Bill will get.”
No, it will get worse because the Senate is less conservative than the House.
With all due respect, you have that 180 degrees WRONG!!!
It's... "DOWN goes Trump! DOWN goes Trump!"
Mea culpa.
Not in this case. The things Rand Paul wants are actually MORE conservative than this House mish-mash. The issue is, how aggressively do they want to challenge a Chair ruling. I think, as more time goes by.. they will care LESS about challenging. It could actually get MUCH better.
Plus... if we keep advancing, the Senate could be SIGNIFICANTLY more conservative in 2018.
This is a leadership test for Trump. Sometimes, leaders just “throw their dick on the table, to see who’s is the biggest”. (Sorry to be so crude.. but, a CEO told me that, in the middle of a tough negotiation 30 years ago.. we won. I never forgot)
If Trump wins this intermediate battle? He can press for better things in the next round... and, he’ll get it.
If he loses? Well... he’s damaged goods.
Trumps last term if 0 care stays. A lot of civilian pubbie congress critters coming too. Try us pubbies. I am sick of being betrayed.
the freedom caucus, rinos, republicans are all a bunch babies.
no matter how they slice it we do not have 60 votes in the senate.
Donald Trump has just handed the recalcitrant Republican house members a pretty stark binary choice - retain the collapsing Obamacare fiasco, and the chaos its failure shall cause, or stop the striving for the “perfect” plan and settle for a dismantling in stages.
The flat-out repeal is not, at this point, a viable option, given the great investment already made in its exploitation.
Now, there is no deal that cannot be unwound, but the right starting thread must be plucked out, otherwise it shall become too tangled and snarled to ever be done short of all-out catastrophe, like burning the whole deal with all the collateral damage from the uncontrolled conflagration.
We don't NEED 60 votes for this part... just 50.
Part 3 will require 60. It will be filled with a LOT of good things. If Dems don't vote FOR it (The vote will come shortly before the 2018 election)... they will LOSE BIGLY in the next Senate election. THAT, is the plan.
And, it's a good one.
Love Trump, or hate Trump... the guy is a long-term planner.. and, WINNER!
What I’m trying to say is, there won’t be parts II or III anyway.
