Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis wants to nominate a senior fellow at a Soros-funded think tank as undersecretary at the Pentagon, as the embattled Cabinet official continues to clash with the White House over prospective nominees.
Politico reports that Mattis wants Rudy deLeon a senior fellow at the far-left Center for American Progress (CAP) to come on board as undersecretary for personnel and readiness.
DeLeon previously served in the Clinton administration as deputy secretary of defense. During that time, Gen. Mattis served as his senior military assistant.
DeLeon worked for Boeing as senior vice president from 2001 to 2006 and currently serves on the board of major defense company General Dynamics.
This appears to be a peculiar choice for an undersecretary, given that deLeon recently endorsed a letter opposing the presidents immigration moratorium from six terror-linked countries. The letter calls Trumps national security order beneath the dignity of our great nation and advised government workers to apply discretion, in an attempt to essentially undermine the presidents initiative.
As a CAP official, he has engaged in campaigns to advance progressive values. deLeon advocates for government to take steps that will be a lasting legacy to the progressive societies for decades to come. He is also a proponent of President Obamas Iran nuclear deal with the terror state in Tehran.

Yellow-Dog Mattis?
I find it interesting that those who support Trump seem to do so realizing he’s still the best thing we have going for us over the next four (eight) years.
His choice to support RyanCare, misguided.
His Mattis pick has gone South.
None the less, I do have high hopes for him. In time that may fade.
Here this writer admits to being in disagreement with Trump, but still seems to reserve hope as well.
To me, that is healthy.
It’s not like we’re pulling a Clinton or an Obama and refusing to admit anything he does can be wrong. When we disagree we say so. We don’t try to damage him so he can’t do more good things down the road.
I don’t know who it was that advised Trump during the campaign, but they need to urge a few mid-course corrections right about now.
RyanCare / Withdraw support
Comey / Dismiss and replace
Mattis / Dismiss and replace
Exactly.
And the same goes for her Democrat husband.
Mattis has got to go.
Respectfully-
You forgot... remove- irs koskinen...
I agree with your recommendations. I am hearing that those Christian based Healthcare co-ops are being axed in the Ryancare bill. I was just investigating the big one. THAT ALONE indicates that this bill needs killing
I hope the White House will stand firm not to hire this guy. The military will continue to be a left wing social laboratory with him in place. War fighting will be way to the rear.
Hate to say this about a fellow Marine, but it’s time to put this rabid dog down...
Maybe islamist Mattis?
I read this and lost my breath......is this crap......errrr..I mean FAKE news? Think Bulldog is getting senile? Jamie Gorelick, Ivanka’s lawyer? Crap, I gotta go lie down. My head is spinning!
Just remember all those people will be under Mattis, keep your friends close, keep the enemy closer.
Fire suit on, Okay, flame away!
I was one of those. I thought, based on a great deal of feedback from former and current soldiers and marines that Mattis would be outstanding at DoD.
I’m very close to changing my mind. These picks of his are poor choices and there are a lot us who are very confused, disappointed and po’d.
Cruz would had faced the same problems, even worse, since he would have been an usurper like the 2nd American usurper.
Giving him credit given that Congress, the media, the judiciary, academia, and all other lib organizations want to take him down. But he knows this.
He needs to govern from outside to the inside, as he did on the campaign, controlling electoral processes to build for a Trump majority.
Throwing in with Ryan dooms him.
I ran across his name after I had posted and realized he was suspect too.
There is at least one other as well.
I didn’t expect to list all of them, but those that need to go, should.
I appreciate the mention.
I was wondering a little if this might be keep your enemies closer. I don’t like it but I’m not a senior strategist.
Not trying to be repetitive, but I don’t remember where I posted some of the comments I’ve made this morning, at this moment.
The biggest “tells” in all of it, is that the state restrictions on insurance and the health care savings accounts aren’t address until the second and third phases.
We won’t even see phases two and three.
You’re right, and we can certainly add more reasons.
I was getting on FR just now to post this article!
WTF is wrong with Mattis?? First he wants a Muslim Brotherhood supporter who worked for Kerry, now a progressive who works for a Soros funded org?
Mattis needs to GO!
LS, have you seen this? I have heard from a source who is keeping track on these things that Mattis has hired a lot of Dems.
He’s a “progressive” -

Rudy Deleon Progressive Governance Conference Chile 2009
He’s not a moron.
That leaves the other option.
I respect Mattis greatly as a Marine. However, if this is the kind of people he wants working for him, perhaps he should step down and let a more conservative fellow take his place.
