...The Happiest Hour Bar for Refusing To Serve Him
Enough is enough. Americans need to start making business owners and their employees pay up for discriminating against them simply because they dare to show their support for our President. Good for this Trump supporter for fighting back against the intolerant left. A lot of Americans would be happy to contribute to his legal defense
Bartenders at a West Village hot spot served up discrimination with a liberal twist refusing to serve a customer because he was wearing a Make America Great Again hat, according to a lawsuit.
Greg Piatek, 30, an accountant from Philadelphia, claims he was snubbed and eventually 86d by workers at The Happiest Hour on West 10th Street over his conservative fashion statement, popularized by Donald Trump on the campaign trail, he told The Post.
Anyone who supports Trump or believes what you believe is not welcome here! And you need to leave right now because we wont serve you! Piatek claims he was told as he was shown the door by a manager.
The shake-up started when Piatek and two pals, after a visit to the 9/11 Memorial, ordered drinks at the posh tavern around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.
A female bartender served Piatek a $15 jalapeño margarita and his pals beers. But when he tried to order a second round, a male bartender noticed his hat and skipped them, he said.
One of Piateks pals pointed out it was their turn to be served, but the bartender scoffed. Is that hat a joke? the Manhattan Supreme Court suit claims.
Ignoring me because Im wearing the hat is ridiculous, Piatek said. Its really sad.
The flustered bartender got them a second round but allegedly slammed the drinks down.
A third bartender also asked Piatek if his lid was a joke and shouted, I cant believe you would support someone so terrible and you must be as terrible a person! Piatek claimed.
I wasnt even trying to order a drink and she said, Dont even try to order from me. I wont get you a drink, Piatek alleged.
A manager said he spoke to the bar owner, and was told, Anyone who supports Trump or believes what you believe is not welcome here. And you need to leave right now because we wont serve you! according to the suit. For entire story: New York Post
New York Post reporter Dean Balsamini had a similar experience when he wore a Trump hat around NYC. He recounts his day of scorn and discrimination after donning a Make America Great Again hat as he visited a few hot spots in the city:
nyp reporterL:
I may as well have been wearing a Red Sox hat at Yankee Stadium.
The mere sight of my cap nearly caused a riot at the historic Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street site of the 1969 riots that launched the gay rights movement.
You come into a gay bar THIS gay bar with THAT hat! one woman lectured as a large crowd gathered.
At Sohos sceney La Esquina, where celebs like Julia Roberts nosh on $26 enchiladas, servers nearly lost their lunch when I showed up.
Oh my God, do you see that? Is he serious? Is he kidding me? one waiter gasped.
My companion and I were quickly shunted to an out of sight table near a back wall.
Dont talk to him! a man instructed a street vendor as I browsed along 125th street near the Apollo Theater.
Hipsters and trustafarians along Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg either did a double take, shot me a death stare or a snarky remark.
Take off that stupid fing hat! one skinny-jeans-wearer sneered.
At high-end chapeau peddler Goorin Bros., I overheard a salesman tell his colleague, Im losing my sh! as I walked in. When I asked him to hold my hat while I admired a fedora, he grimaced.
Im surprised nobodys knocked that hat off your head! a mother of two scolded me as we crossed paths along Central Park West and 63rd Street. Make America Great Again right!

Reviews:
Any establishment that charges that much for average drinks , and terrible seating, and then has the audacity to pass judgement and proudly act like a fascist and prejudice biased because hard working Americans , half the country , do not agree with your support of a evil woman who did evil things to good people , should be closed down. The drinks are not good , there is horrible lighting, and the owner is an close minded fascist dirt ball.

As an Liberal Independent, I am offended that someone was refused service because of who they supported. A Christian has no more rights than the LGBT nor the Muslim. You just took someone’s right away and it will cost you like it cost the baker.

If it were a liberal who was refused service over politics, we’d be hearing about it on the news for the next two years!
I’m pretty sure every bar has a sign that says they have the right to refuse service. That is just about every bar I go in and the sign is there for a good reason. They don’t want fights, drunks or people that don’t approve of showers.
This guy should just take his money and go where it is welcome. Doubt he’ll win a lawsuit. The alternative is to get a bunch of like minded individuals and go break up the joint. That would be my choice.
What is with Homosexuals and Trump. He spoke out against their slaughter at the Florida gay bar and said they should have been able to have had guns to fight back. Have Democrats or Hillary suggested they should have been able to defend themselves?
But just try not baking a cake....
Your response is classically conservative. I, and many like-minded Freepers agree, just go somewhere else. That’s the high road.
But what happens is that Liberals continually use our convictions against us. They sue the heck out of Christian bakers and tailors and pizza shop owners when they are refused service, but when the tables should be turned, conservatives find suing repugnant. It is an uneven battlefield.
I’ve become fine with suing them.
Either Republicans should be a protected class along with blacks, women, gays, etc., or we need to repeal the anti-discrimination laws. The worst possible outcome would be to allow huge leftist controlled firms to invoke property rights arguments to impoverish Republicans into submission. While the discriminator in this case was a small business that usually invokes sympathy, its discrimination was part of a dangerous trend.
:: the sign is there for a good reason. They dont want fights ::
So, what happens if the ^^staff^^ invites “confrontation”?

I think it's the feminazis more then anything else... But, I sure there are more then a few bull dikes in the mix...
The MSM and the leftist leadership told them to hate Trump, no matter what. Don't judge him and what he says and does, but judge him on what WE tell you.
Yep. Enough with being passive. If he has a gofundme page I’d contribute to his legal fund.
I was tending bar a couple of months ago and when I told a customer that I loved his MAGA hat he gave his wife a look and she said,”I’m sorry!”
She had told him not to wear it inside because of how the staff might react. They just chose the right section:). The regular bar bartender (I usually just take tables)and I are very conservative.
But even the other wait staff who detest Trump would never say anything rude to a customer. They might vent in the kitchen, but we all like tips!

Not part of the uniform for work ;).
While shopping for groceries I saw a man wearing a shirt that made me want to thank him for wearing it-I would have had to get in line. It said (in huge letters) “veterans before refugees “.
In that city it took courage!!!
I hope he has ital on video
Otherwise he will loose in lawless NYC
Yet another victory for tolerance - NOT!
It is becoming more clear as every day passes that the Left (not liberals - that is an almost extinct species, destined to join the conservative Democrat before long) is the same as it has ever and everywhere been - incredibly intolerant of even THOUGHTS opposed to them, and willing to cross any line of civility or legality to get their way.
Just imagine if people like this gain true power (or what it would have been like under Hillary) - it would have been the end of this nation.
I wear my Trump hat, my “Deplorable” hat, or my “Team Deplorable 2016” t-shirt whenever possible, for the simple purpose of pissing off Leftists.
I know what these people are, what their methods are and what their goals are - they are no different than the Bolsheviks who destroyed my grandfather’s family (and millions of others) in the process of obtaining and maintaining power...and I will NOT sit still and let the same happen to my country or my family. Thank G-d - literally - for Trump’s victory, because there would have been a literal civil war if Hillary had won and started to further “transform” our society (starting with the Scalia seat on the Supreme Court).
This could be a great case if the ACLU takes up the bar’s side and it goes to the SCOTUS. I hope this guy actually loses there, but it’s because I’m seeing this as a more broad issue.
That issue is that I believe businesses should be free to refuse service to anyone and for any reason - unless they are a monopoly, like a power company. And if this makes it to the SCOTUS, they just could rule that way.
No more “you have to bake the cake”. No more putting up with unruly customers simply because they belong to a “protected” minority and you fear a lawsuit.
i.e. freedom to conduct your business as you see fit will significantly expand if this guy sues - and loses in the SCOTUS.
