The Environmental Protection Agency awarded Michigan $100 million in grant money to replace the Flint water systems damaged infrastructure. The Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act of 2016 provided the funding for this grant that would help Flint replace its lead water pipes that have fallen into disrepair, the EPA said in a statement.
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt said this grant is part of the Trump administrations goal to improve the countrys water infrastructure.
EPA will especially focus on helping Michigan improve Flints water infrastructure as part of our larger goal of improving Americas water infrastructure, Pruitt said.
Michigan Republicans and Democrats praised the EPAs decision to fund efforts to repair Flints water system.

“you cant just condemn the citizens of that city to live with the health problems or crumbling infrastructure.”
YOU CAN AND YOU MUST “Condemn” people to live with their choices. Good God, man!!!!! I do not owe people money because they vote democrat.
Infrastructure spending has been code word for “the g giving out welfare benefits to democrats and unions” since about 1400BC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just because DT is now giving out my money, and picking winners and loser, and enriching unions, and letting democrats off the hook for their bad behavior, does not make it good.
Waste of money when dems do it, and waste of money when repubs do it. Welfare for unions. And, yes, I’ve been unhappy with the g. wasting my money for about 40 years now.
Does this guarantee a Trump win in Michigan in 2020???
This restores clean water to a mostly black community and brings in lots of jobs that will boost the lagging economy in Flint.
Look for liberals to freak out when they discover that the Warrern-Franken ticket is doomed.
Welfare is welfare by any name.
You’re argument will have a lot more power, if you swear off driving on public interstates and freeways.
While you’re at it, don’t go to hospitals for your health care.
While you’re at it, don’t take Social Security or Medicare.
The folks paying for these things could quite easily object.
By the way, while Flint may be a hell hole, the policies that brought it to that point WERE NOT exclusively it’s own.
I’m not here to defend poor choices, but the federal government has made a number of very poor choices over the last twenty years that have impacted cities and states across this nation very negatively.
Many of them would be in a much better position financially if it weren’t for the all out war on U. S. workers and jobs in this nation.
BTW: This has nothing to do with a union position either. I detest them.
You are a liberal democrat who believes in massive FED GOV spending. The roads I drive on in VA should be paid for by Virginians. If they are not, that is no my fault. It is the fault of liberals like you who believe in the fed gov paying for everything.
My hospital is privately owned. Liberals have a long history of believing that all hospitals are gov owned, when most are not. Liberals then believe that they SHOULD be gov owned. ALL my heath care comes from my wife’s private ins. plan.
I do not take SS or medicare. If I did, however, that would not make those programs moral, good, or just. Liberal democrats like you love SS and medicare.
I do not owe the citizens of flint a damn dime.
Your love of fed gov spending now that DT is in the white house speaks volumes.
And, when it is not finished, Trump can get in the pols faces and say, “You, the democrats, this is a prime example of why this country is ****##-up.” No more money for you.
Just in time to set the precedent... because Cali is soon to be coming and beggin’ the red states to pull them out of the hole.
LOL. So the funds the tax base sends to Washington should never be returned to states for projects? It makes me a Liberal Democrat to recognize this?
You hospital may privately owned, but guess what, it gets federal government dollars. You didn’t know that either?
Yes, you just believe all this all you want. Never mind if you’re missing it by a mile.
I don’t like them either, but when the system is set up so that your money is diverted into the general fund, you either play along or go without.
As for what situation you are in, too young, or you have a nice pension, not everyone does have a nice pension. Financial situations can come up so that even the person who tries to do the right things have to play along and use those types of government programs. That doesn’t make them evil. Until something else comes along, they’re pretty much the only game in town.
It doesn’t make someone a Leftist to recognize that.
Well, I didn’t owe you a damn dime to build the roads around you either, but the federal government forked over in part for them. As I said, don’t drive on them if you’re all in on your beliefs. Show some moral fiber ace.
You are a clueless wonder. Where do you think the federal government gets it’s funds? It’s gets them from the tax base in each state. Some of that money is returned to the states for special projects.
Oh my gosh, you’re just finding all this out.
You poor thing.
LOL. You poor thing. LOL. Poor thing, you.
So, my hospital gets federal dollars. Prove it. Go ahead and prove it. IF it does, you think this is just, good, and right, and should continue. This makes you a liberal democrat.
Michigan sends money to EPA. You think this should continue. Liberal democrat, you.
You are a clueless wonder, ace, you poor thing, and you believe in fed gov spending on a biblical scale. You just figured this out, you poor thing?
Two years ago we sold our primary home in Tacoma and moved to Michigan. I grew up near Detroit spending weekends on Pontiac Lake.
Currently near Gaylord and love every minute of life here upnorth. Got a pileated woodpecker living across the road from us who eats breakfast near our kitchen window every morning.
Proof that Trump is a not racist that will be ignored.
Proof that Trump takes action to get real things done that benefit Americans that will be ignored.
Proof that the new EPA is not going to neglect peoples water that will be ignored.???
I say BS, I grew up in a NE city, they all have 100 plus year old water sewer and gas lines, I don’t think the rest of us should have to replace them.
I live in Texas we have new everything including schools. Will we now be forced to educate all the illgals you forced on us place on us plus build new schools in the older northeast cities too?
Sorry libbies raise higher soda sugar gas or tobacco taxes, BUT that aint my problem. Why should we Trump voters in the rural red states have to give libbies free stuff. Oh, that’s right we need the votes.
Liberal democrats like you think it is necessary for farm boys in Montana to labor to send their property to democrats in Flint. Conservatives do not think this is “necessary” at all.
Only a retarded liberal democrat would say,
“The federal government pointed a gun at your head and took your property to build a road in VA. Therefore, you may never drive on the road unless you are also a retarded democrat.”
“You didn’t build that,” is a FAMOUS saying of your God, Barack Obama.
but the fed should only spend on fed things like interstate roads and bridges not local plumbing, or local state or county roads or bridges. Those are local expenses.
Yeah, I didn’t want to leave Michigan after living there for 40+ years, but you have to go where the work is. The only reason I moved out here is my in-laws, and the fact that it’s not related to the auto or machine tool industry. Jobs are plentiful and there’s plenty of industries here looking for people with actual heavy manufacturing experience.
As to the mention of Pontiac lake, I have family and friends who worked for the DNR there. Lots of good times, especially at the gun range there.
He needs to safeguard the American tax payers money and set up a watchdog board that will make sure the money is spent on the water system
Noting that I gladly voted for Pres. Trump and do not regret doing so, I agree.
Patriots need to get constitutionally low-information Trump up to speed on the feds constitutionally limited powers, including limited power to appropriate taxes.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Trump needs to either put stop such spending, or lead the states to amend the Constitution to authorize the feds to tax and spend for such purposes.
that’s funny. Have you not heard of cost overruns. Let’s call Boston about their little tunnel.
You’re a liberal democrat who believes in unlimited federal government spending.
