(WASHINGTON) -- Nine high-ranking U.S. Navy officers, including one former admiral, have been charged with trading classified information in exchange for travel, dinner and prostitution services from a foreign defense contractor -- the latest charges in the widening probe, according to the Justice Department.

According to the Justice Department, the Navy officials allegedly took in expensive travel and entertainment expenses as well as prostitution services while steering contracts toward the company, Glenn Defense Marine Asia (GDMA), and blocking its competitors.

They allegedly used fake names and foreign email address to keep their actions secret.

I wonder if the house of prostitution involved minors.

TLR,

A case against Bill and the Hildabeast for bribery re: contributions to the CGI and Bill’s speaking fee would take at least 20 to 40 damned good Special Agents, IRS types and dogged lawyers at least 10-12 months to prepare, but if “Clinton Cash” is 30% correct, such a case would be a ironclad.

Getting a conviction would still be difficult, as a Clinton acolyte could hang any jury, but the case presentation itself would be disastrous for the Clintons. Such a case prosecution would involve deal-cutting testimony from many, and regardless of the jury verdict, would rewrite the Clinton pages of history books.

We can hope the new AUSA for the SDNY can push it.

Looks like this happened on SecyNav Ray Mabus’ watch.

If so, he should have spent less time picking out dresses, putting women on subs, and making the fleet into the “Queens’ Navy and more on making it a real fighting machine, PC-less.

“Mary Sue and the side cleaners in HKG always knew the ship
schedule in advance. Somebody was leaking then also.”

It wasn’t Mary Sue but the same thing happened in Subic. In fact, the girls could tell their “friends” when said friend would be shipping out.

This is the tip of the iceberg. I said 8 years ago our national security secrets would be sold to the highest bidder by Obama’s people. This was all part of Obama’s plan of hate and change. There is much more to come.

Speaking as a Baby Boomer former Marine, my discipline, morals and ethics are just fine. And many of my brother Baby Boomer Marines names are on The Wall.

There's always "that guy" in every discussion that says "But I'm not like that!"

It's called a generalization, dummy.

They were arrested in multiple state THIS morning, across country, and half have already pleaded guilty??????

This investigation has been going on for a long time. I recall reading about it probably over a year ago. The people who have pleaded guilty were picked up a long time ago. The article apparently talks about 9 more who have just been arrested (although it seems the link is no longer good).

Fat Leonard scandal

The Navy noticed the problem in 2010 and they started arresting people in 2013.

Thank you for this info.

Was it all the PRC?

Maybe I’m dense or uninformed but I’m not sure what PRC might mean in this context. I don’t think the scandal has anything to do with China other than that the company involved operated out of Hong Kong among other ports.

re: the PRC.

Within the PRC, no company operates without the permission, and “guidance” of the Beijing government. Even if it is a non-Chinese company, it’s existence and business within the world’s second most populous country (and burgeoning consumer economy) is at the whim of the government.

For the intelligence arms of the PLA of the PRC, the facade of things being done by a private company makes it so much easier to move the fuel of the intelligence business (money) around to those you wish to pay off / bribe / control with complete deniability... (and of course siphon a little off the top for yourself.)

As an example, I have it on excellent authority that the total amount of the bribes paid by the PRC to the Clintons to enhance their 1996 re-election campaign was 77 million dollars, (+ or - 11%)

That money ostensibly came from “private companies” but there is no doubt the money really came from an “expense voucher” approved directly by the politburo.
