As he pointed his pistol at staff behind the counter, Brian Harrison whipped out his gun and shot the criminal dead - all of which was caught on security footage.

Not just great shooting but great display of courage.
They really don’t. If you walk into a bank wearing a mask and carrying what looks like a gun, you’ve already forfeited your life. You’re going to be welcomed into the loving hands of Jesus real soon. He’s going to love wrapping his arms around this guy’s neck.
Masked bank robber comes into bank.
Dies of massive stress-induced stroke.
While lying face-down on the floor, body cooling ...
... the brave Security Guard puts 17 rounds into his back, just for good measure.
“Nice Pattern!”
That’s a good youtube vid capture. The guy dropped dead about 5 feet from the door. Wow. At 10 seconds in, you can see he fired his gun at the guard
Saw the video.
SO F***ed!
I think every shot hit meat. Wow. Great shoot.
Notice how quickly the staff takes cover - the perp isn’t even through the first set of doors and already the tellers are hitting the floor. I wonder if the moron was announcing his intentions as he charged in - it that’s the case, he probably signed his own death warrant, as it gave the old guy enough lead time to draw and take aim.
Yeah, a lead clot got loose in his brain.
Plus there was a shot fired at the robber as he was going out the door.
"He was shot in his chest and his buttocks."
"The incident occurred on January 20, and the hero security guard had been sweating over whether or not charges would be brought against him."
Poor fella worried He'd be charged
You answered your own question -- somehow the tellers knew very early. Maybe they saw the gun, maybe he was yelling, maybe he was moving too fast, maybe all that, maybe more.
Note to self: when robbing a bank, don't hold the gun high in the air for everybody to see, and don't (probably) yell "this is a robbery!".
Am I going to hell for imagining his last few shambling steps being accompanied by Yakety Sax?
I expect the guard will be fired, and then the would be thiefs family will sue him.
I’m too old and fat to try to wrestle; all I can do is shoot.
34-year-old Laurence Turner entered the bank on North Mulford Road in the late afternoon of January 20th and fired a shot into the ceiling.
According to the Daily Mail the robber came in shooting at the ceiling.
Columbo just had an episode discussing that. It is not a crime to shoot someone who is dead. (Other than a possibly a charge of discharging a weapon)
What a waste of a life.
