I love Lou Dobbs and am suspicious of Ryan, but I think that this is a cheap shot.
Ryan’s comments about not defending Trump were clearly in the context of defending Trump’s statements on the Access Hollywood tape (about grabbing women by the genitals). Out of context.
In the time frame, I didn’t see Ryan limiting this to the Trump comments. I don’t think he was in the Trump camp, and I thought this was him making that as clear as he could.
He was a part of the GOPe, and was certain Trump was heading for a crack-up.
Guess who cracked up. The GOPe.
And everybody took them out of the context of the conversation. They were talking about the way women throw themselves at celebrities and what those same celebrities made comments to him about it.
Personally, Ryan did not have to say a thing and he did not have to un-invite Trump to his party in such a public way.
Now we hear that Ryan will be meeting with Trump to “negotiate” the issues raised by those he has spoken with who are against the Ryan plan. Maybe Ryan will be just as recalcitrant to the point of teeing off the Boss.
“Ryans comments about not defending Trump were clearly in the context of defending Trumps statements on the Access”
That’s not clear to me.
Doesn’t matter. You’re either loyal or you’re not. He could have kept his mouth shut. He didnt. Instead he tried to position himself as if he is better than. He isnt. I’d love to hear what he’s had to say about women in his past especially sitting out in that little hunting shack of his with his little scraggly beard... what a phony
Google Ryan’s wife
There are two issues going on here. The first, as you point out, only applies to the timing of the issue. Of course Ryan wouldn’t defend the comments to Bush then or ever....but he spoke far more generally, inferring that he woudl not support Trump then or in the future...period. Ryan virtually ostracized Trump right up to the elections. When they were both elected, it became increasingly difficult for Ryan, so there was a false detente which I hope Trump picked up on at the time. Anyone could see the smarmy, sarcastic look on his face as he sat behind Trump during his last speech. It sure didn’t look like he supported Trump, with his wry little smile. (The you’re so stupid smile). We get it Paul. Your time is up.
I agree with you. Not a lyinRyan fan but this reeks of quote mining.

Dobbs is acting like Ryan made those comments five hours ago, not five months ago.
That might be true if he had limited his remarks to the vulgar tape but he didn't say he would not defend his remarks, he said he would not defend him now or in the future.
That’s not what I heard the RINO say. If he specifically said he couldn’t support Trump’s statement that would be one thing but he didn’t. He also had the option not to say anything, of course being the politician he is, he just couldn’t help himself...

Wrong. The cheap shot was when that loathsome bastard saw fit to shoot his filthy mouth off in an attempt to make himself seem so righteous relative to Donald Trump, when the right thing to do would have been to keep his yap shut.
