The National Weather Service has cancelled its blizzard warning for New York City as snow and sleet continues to fall across the Tri-State area. A winter weather advisory is now in effect for the city, Hudson and northern Nassau counties until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The storm was expected to dump a foot or more of snow on the New York City area with wind gusts of up to 55 mph.
The storm actually has shifted, it shifted west, Gov. Andrew Cuomo told CBS This Morning. Theres less snowfall in New York City, theres less snowfall on Long Island. Theres actually more in the Hudson Valley and the western part of the state.

Here in the mountains of North Carolina we saw the prediction go from two storms a day apart to one, and the snowfall amounts in the one remaining dwindle go from 12” to just a dusting last night.
We had the kids come home early for Spring Break because we were told that they would be driving in a snowstorm. Turns out, it was just another sunny day. Nice to have them home early, though.
I’ve stopped getting worked up about these storms. It’s just an opportunity for those poor weather folks who dwell at the tail end of the newscast to take a front seat, so they jump up and down and hyperventilate to get attention for their big shot. Meanwhile, I can look at the radar maps online and take a glance out of my window and do a better prediction than these highly over-paid, over-educated bimbo and manbos can.
Joe blew the long range forecast for February back in early January when he said Feb. would be brutal.
At least he owns up to mistake and explains where he went wrong.
But that doesn’t help his clients who hedged on his Feb. forecast.
About 100 miles due north of NYC here and we have a real blizzard going here...total whiteout...
Or, just watch the old folk signs which are usually pretty accurate. Falling smoke from chimneys (falling barometric pressure), animal behavior, particularly birds gone to ground stuffing themselves, ring around the moon (which is ice crystals), several more. I went to school at WCU and the locals there always said if you could smell the paper mill at Canton in Waynesville, it was going to snow and it always did.
Drudge should stop whining.
Flights would have been cancelled with these winds and approaches. They got that right.
It would be dangerous to get kids to schools. They got that right.
Stop whining.
Here in the Boston area, pretty much everybody called it a day. I get to “work” at home. Corned beef in the oven and some laundry running while making dodge answers to specious email requests. ;-)
Here in southern New Hampshire, we have gotten about 2” of snow in the past four hours. It is coming down steadily right now. Wind at about 3 MPH. The heaviest is supposed to be this afternoon and evening. We will see.
I thought FEMA or some gov'mint agency got called out here to California to deal with the flooding, road collapses and dam-near dam bustings.
Guess Moonbeam was too busy worrying about his choo-choo to East Nowheresville to call Washington. Or are the Dems still claiming that the floods and FEMA were on "The Great Magnificent One's" watch???
Great quote. But it doesn't go to explain why real dangers (e.g. Islam, polyglot) are not only ignored but encouraged.

Down here, in Amherst, we are getting snow. About 2” or so, so far.
I grew up in central Wisconsin, and I do not recall the hyperventilating that occurs now. We got a bunch of snow, we shoveled and went to school! No big deal.
I think that an excess of lawyers is the main problem. My son is out of school and a manager of a Tractor Supply store, with having a college degree. When he went through the Amherst Public Indoctrination System, my impression was that their greatest fear was law suits... not the quality of education.
I have to laugh - the public schools in Buffalo are still open today. What’s a little lake-effect snow?
I ma in Connecticut, and we already have 8 inches. It is extremely windy.
Meh, I walked to school in bare feet, in a blizzard, uphill, both ways.
Report from Midtown Manhattan as of 0945
Just a heavy nasty slushy snowstorm, I had to walk 10 blocks and it’s was nothing.
“Havent the NYC media been spreading panic and hysteria about this snowstorm for three or four days?”
Just goes to show “prideful man” that GOD ALMIGHTY is still in charge and poor is the man who doesn’t believe that.
WMAL Radio just announced that Sylvie From Waldorf’s power is out.
Even the winds are down, over their original predictions...which is a good thing :)
STELLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I had to laugh when the FoxNews weather guy was standing outside, giving his report, this morning....warning folks, “You do NOT want to be out in this!!”.....while cars are passing and people are going on about their lives, behind him :-)
In CT, the state is gettin hit hard right now.
