Democratic Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom is drafting a health care plan for California that he plans to unveil as a core component of his gubernatorial run, based in part on the universal health care program he signed into law when he was mayor of San Francisco.
Newsom, seen as a strong contender in the increasingly crowded field of candidates vying to succeed Gov. Jerry Brown in 2018, is staking out an ambitious plan to rein in rising health care costs, expand universal access to people across the state regardless of income or immigration status and preserve coverage for the estimated 5 million Californians who risk losing their insurance under President Donald Trumps changes.
I think that its inevitable in this country that, after all the trials and errors, we find ourselves face-to-face with a Medicare-for-all conversation, Newsom said. Thats what we are pursuing.

So, he enabled legislation as mayor of SF to have universal health insurance there? Well, how is it working out? Are SF residents seeing better healthcare at lower prices? Cost overruns? Tax increases? Unpredicted numbers of illegal aliens soaking up benefits?
Let’s find out how their plan worked out before we say it should go statewide.
Free healthcare for everybody in the People’s Republic of California, because their current budget shortfalls are not large enough!
Such vast, social-engineering schemes can ultimately, only be paid with the ability to print one’s own fiat, unbacked currency and issue massive debt in that same currency. It is simply impossible for California to collect enough tax to make such a scheme work.
But, let California try. That’s how Federalism works.
But under no circumstances should the Federal Government pay even once cent to this scheme.
Let it come out of his pocket. Indigent and exceptional healthcare costs are already obliterating CA’s budget.
Hey Newsom, will this cover all the illegals coming into California and all the future ones?
Since we’re proposing legislation, I say Newsom pay for this out of his pockets.
25 millions, who will lose insurance should move to California.
It you have good coverage now you will lose it and stand in line with the illegal aliens for an appointment with the overscheduled doctor.
Get out the popcorn. We need to take bets on which program will doom Mexi-liba-fornia...health care, Calexit, the big one, Mexican Revolution II, or a combination of the above
We’d better have contract extensions on that border fence. We’ll need it.
Oh, special restrictions on ANY actors trying to enter our country following the sure to come disaster.
Hey Newsom, will this cover all the illegals coming into California and all the future ones?
Keep it up and no one will have any health care at all.
Moar freeeeee sssssstufffff!
Wasn’t he once married to that Guillfoile info babe on Fox?
Gavin will make Moonbeam look like a conservative with his give aways to those on welfare and will vote for him.
25 millions, who will lose insurance would move to California and live in the Sanctuary Cities/Counties.

Once unconstitutional taxes are stopped then the states will probably find a tsunami of new revenues that they wont know what to do with. Each state can establish its own healthcare program, improve public schools, police and firefighting services for starters.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!
Remember in November 18 !
Since Trump entered the 16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the 18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February 18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal governments powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal governments limited powers listed below.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphasis added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
And, Cali physicians will be scouting openings and availabilities in "red" states, and moving out forthwith.
This is such a tragedy. There are many good people in Cali that do not deserve this (yes, they are outvoted by illegals and progressives).
Newsom' proposal is playing with peoples' health and ruining a state.

They seem to imagine the Feds will be like parents to their rescue when it hits.
