I’ve had both. I prefer Amish butter, but that requires Amish Farms in less than a day’s drive. . .

There was a store in Illinois, along 41 just south of the border, that had an enormous white neon sign reading “OLEOMARGARINE” for the benefit of travelers from Wisconsin. An old friend said you could see it for miles...I believe it may have once been the world’s largest freestanding neon sign.

I also use
MCT Powder. The powder is not as messy and contains both Caprylic (C8) and Capric (C10) Acid. Works great as a creamer.

We had a similar regulation in Iowa. I remember at age 8 it was I who had to break the little red plastic capsule so it could be spread thru the package. I also remember that crappy taste. We were living on a farm that, beside field crops, we had a few cows and sold excess dairy prod. so we quickly went to the pioneer practice of churning our own butter. I, unfortunately, inherited the churning job...a lot more work buy much better taste.
They didn't dare give their margarine a presumptuous name like "Can't Believe it's Not Butter"...more like "Can't Believe it's Not Lard".

“Margarine ought to be banned - everywhere.”
If I need to saute something at high temp I will use margarine or olive oil in very small amounts. Butter does not like high temps. After saute I will then put real butter on it for real flavor.
God gifted me with low cholesterol and I use butter to the extreme. It is good!
For those not gifted with low cholesterol, life sucks. However, numerous studies condemn butter and many others do not. I am a health care professional and the answer is we really do not know.

Many years ago the French wine industry was devastated by a disease. In Texas we had a grape that was totally unsuitable for wine grapes but was totally resistant to the disease. Our grapes vines were then used in France and grafted to wine producing grape vines. When you drink fine French wine and it is good, their roots are in Texas.

I am a butternut. Butter is one of my very favorite things. Irish butter is wonderful, and so is hand rolled Amish butter. Sometimes I brown my butter just a little, because it brings out a rich flavor, and then pour it over my popcorn. I like a little popcorn with my butter, and of course nicely salted.

Sorry! I guess that means that Irish coffee is just coffee grown in Ireland?
