On January 19, 2017 my oldest daughter was thrown out of the car after rolling and killed instantly...my grandson who was DUI and driving on revocation was driving...
Now stop and think for a minute...just how would you feel...having to bury your daughter and your grandson is in jail, and has been since that day...he was not allowed out to attend the service, (thanks to me) and why he was driving, no one knows, she was licensed and had been for a long time, perfect driving record...
So now we are going through the court case, am I angry, bitter, well yes and no...angry that he was driving, angry that neither his parents had a problem with him drinking, bitter...guess that comes later as I'm still dealing with a lot of other emotions...fog oh yes, lots of it...
Yes I support DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE but you can only lead a horse to water, you can't make them drink...
Grandson's charges are: Vehicular homicide, DUI, and driving under restraint...
And in this case, it wasn't the ‘other persons fault’ it was the parent's fault and now I live with that...
Because the grandson was an igmo, doesn't mean everyone else would be an igmo.
Just like a nanny state, punish 99% for the mistakes of the 1%. Very same logic..ban firearms because some idiot shoots up an establishment. Ban’em all!!!
Good grief.
Sorry for you loss. That’s an unimaginable tragedy. Your comment however serves to validate just how idiotic that new legislation is.
“my grandson who was DUI and driving on revocation was driving...”
Laws won’t prevent someone who has no regard for laws or penalties from doing the responsible thing. He was driving on a revoked license! You didn’t mention whether or not it was from a previous DUI but my point on this legislation was made from your statement.
What was your grandson's BAC?
I’m sorry for your loss, but after reading the tragic story you posted I strongly suspect that alcohol was really only a very small part of the problem your family members were dealing with.
