While your thought might be correct it is irrelevant in American society that has a “Work Day”

The work day and associated school day are fixed hours about which other life revolves.

Relevancy is in the eye of the beholder.

There is nothing stopping the ‘world’ from accommodating different school hours during the year, or work hours for that matter. It’s a matter of how much you are willing to inconvenience others for some.

I’ve spent some time where the sun is either mostly near ‘up’ or ‘down’ for a part of the year. I don’t think the residents there care much about DST one way or the other.

In the end it is preference. To me it makes no difference, really. So if it makes you feel better, then by all means let’s all accommodate it.
