Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Saturday lauded former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara after the high-profile federal prosecutor said he was fired earlier in the day.

After meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, Preet Bharara agreed Wednesday to remain at his post as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York in the new administration.
Mr. Bharara, who was appointed by President Obama, confirmed that he accepted Mr. Trump’s offer to stay on the job after a meeting at Trump Tower in Manhattan.
“The president-elect asked — presumably because he’s a New Yorker and is aware of the great work that our office has done over the past seven years — asked to meet with me to discuss whether or not I’d be prepared to stay on as the United States attorney to do the work we have done, independently, without fear or favor for the last seven years,” he told reporters in the lobby of Trump Tower.
Mr. Bharara runs one one of the most important U.S. attorney’s office in the country, handling a heavy load of corruption, white-collar, cybercrime and terrorism cases.
He said that he has already spoken to Sen. Jeff Sessions, whom Mr. Trump nominated for attorney general, about continuing to serve as U.S. attorney.
“He also asked that I stay on, and so I expect that I will be continuing to work at the southern district,” Mr. Bharara said.

If Chuck the schmuck is upset then it was definitely the right thing to do. Besides there has been way too much open defiance it’s time to end it.
Bharara was an apprentice of Schumer. Tonight on Fox News, Judge Jeanine Pirro’s guest was a virulent Trump hater named Koko who was moaning about Bharara’s firing because it left some of his cases unfinished. She said he was investigating Trump’s connection to a Russian bank. She also said he was investigating Fox News! So whatever else he was doing, you can’t blame Pres. Trump for firing that snake.

Preet worked for Schumer.
Joon Kim takes his place until someone is appointed.

He also prosecuted Dinesh D'Souza. Personally, I have a problem with anyone appointed by Obama, and supported by Schumer.
I’m pretty sure that I read that.

Maybe the Trumpster has bigger plans for Mr. Bharara.

I spent almost five hours digging into this guys(Preet Baharara's) career and all I could find is that he was weak on the big banks in NY and did Dinesh super dirty.
But when you have a card carrying dem,if that's who he was,going after the Mayor of NYC it's enough to get anyone thrown out of the dem party. Add on the Governor and well and you instill amazing hate from the left on you forever. Add in that Trump and Sessions appear to have had conversations with him in Nov. and unless several publications all got it wrong the gist was that he was to stay on.
Then he gets canned?
Makes no sense,something else is going on that no one has figured out yet.

What’s funny is that my wife and I just watched “Hillary’s America” for the first time tonight.
We have a man from India who dearly loves this country and has been treated far worse than others for his doings.
Did Trump actually tell Bharara that face to face? I found an article that said it was a campaign official who said Trump was impressed with the work he did, and was considering keeping him on, but again, no identification of this alleged campaign official:
You have a point. But, if someone tells you they plan to keep you on in NOv. and then in March they ask you to leave. Is it right to question it?
Question is one thing...refuse to submit quite another.
