BOSTON — FBI Director James Comey says he plans to serve his entire 10-year term, even as controversy swirls over his attempt to rebut President Donald Trump’s claim that the Obama administration tapped his phones during the election.
Comey said Wednesday during a cybersecurity conference at Boston College: “You’re stuck with me for another 6½ years.” He was appointed 3½ years ago by then-President Barack Obama.

Yes, I had that wrong, thank you for the correction: even though there is plenty of “cause”, none is needed!
At this point there’s all kinds of cause.
Don’t deny that, but the point is, he does not “serve at the pleasure of the President” as you originally stated.
Well I was trying to be agreeable but if Trump wants Comey gone he’s toast. So basically we are talking apples and apples. The only reason Comey is still the head of the FBI is because Trump wants him there.
He can PLAN on it... doesn't mean that it will happen.
Trump has the final say.

That could well be true. So for now I will not jump on the dump Comey bandwagon because I do not know what is going on behind the scenes. I will wait for Trump to give the word about Comey.
Either working on something real big from the last administration or has something real big on someone in this administration.....
Nope. Not without cause.
He can be fired at anytime citing lack of confidence. That’s what they do in the military. There is always a reason. Adequate cause is subjective.
