BOSTON — FBI Director James Comey says he plans to serve his entire 10-year term, even as controversy swirls over his attempt to rebut President Donald Trump’s claim that the Obama administration tapped his phones during the election.
Comey said Wednesday during a cybersecurity conference at Boston College: “You’re stuck with me for another 6½ years.” He was appointed 3½ years ago by then-President Barack Obama.

Exactly right.
No one, including no FReepers, knows the inside story on Comey and his role in all this. Trump and Sessions do, and the choices are to trust that they are handling the situation correctly or to conclude they are incompetent.
I’m with Trump.
I didn’t know he had been convicted yet, let alone sentenced.
Or is it not a prison term. Darn.
Except the courts are all stacked with Obama appointed judges.
NO ONE except supreme court justices has absolute job security in our govt. EVERYONE can be fired.
the FBI falls under the executive branch. as such, he serves at the pleasure of the President...

I see it that way as well. Comey is part of the solution but we don’t yet have enough information to clearly see his role. There is a phenomenon in management called fundamental attribution error. When we lack information that might explain an individual’s behavior we tend to fill in the gaps with assumptions about character or motive.

President Trump is foolish if he retains this lying POS. He fired Flynn for lying. Many in the FBI did not agree with FBI Director Comey’s public statement re the Hillary using personal email to convey Top Secret info to her staff investigation that “there is no evidence that warrants a prosecutionâ€. Anyone paying attention knew that was a lie. It’s 2.5 months and President Trump appears to be falling right in with the DC establishment, per his approval of the Ryan Healthcare BS Bill and not repealing Obozocare as he so adamantly promised during his campaign. Folks, Trump is starting to suck big time, he’s making chumps of the American people just like the other DC pukes.
President Trump can ask him to leave at any time. For whatever reason, and the imagination can run wild, Trump has elected to keep him on. I think Comey has the goods on Obama, Lynch, the Clintons, et al. If so, firing him will not facilitate his cooperation in any current or future investigations. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
I have the strong feeling that Comey is Trump’s designated Tar Baby trap.
Take a chill pill. Did you see today’s jobs numbers? Unfortunately, for his and his family’s safety, he will inevitably have to make painful, disappointing compromises with the Washington Establishment. Steve Bannon’s job (and ours) is to minimize these occurrences.

DJT could have fired Comey right after his inauguration, but he didn’t.
Why?
He can be fired. He doesn’t have a “term”. He has a 10 year max limit.
Following your line of thinking, he should make Hillary Clinton his Chief of Staff. Comey is owned and controlled lock,stock, and barrel head by Hillary Clinton.
No cause is needed, none. He can be fired at will and has no protections. He has a max limit of 10 years.

Well, even with his recent statements, we should be thanking this guy a little at least for exposing HRC before the election. He didn’t actually do anything but he did bring her crimes to light. I’d say that counts for something.
Who knows what’s happening these days between him and Trump. They might be doing a little kabuki theater too. Maybe a rope-a-dope.
Yeah, good luck with that. Trump will have you outta Dodge before 10 months passes. Probably less.
