Female Muslim athletes around the world can finally look forward to representation in professional sportswear after Nike announced it will launch the Nike Pro Hijab.

The product was first teased in the Swoosh’s viral video campaign, titled “What Will They Say About You?,” and is set to be released in spring 2018...

Though Nike has long been committed to diversity and inclusivity (it launched a plus-size range just last week,) this is the first time it has released an item specifically for Muslim female athletes.

“The Nike Pro Hijab was designed as a direct result of our athletes telling us they needed this product to perform better,” Global Nike Spokeswoman Megan Saalfeld told Al Arabiya English. “We hope that it will help athletes around the world do just that.”

The photos are great. A hijab paired with skin-tight leotards. Now that’s funny, right there.

So Nike is making traditional symbolic garments for entities that subscribe to a religion that advocates killing, raping and enslaving people. What’s next? The Nike KKK hood?

Capitalism at its best even for things we disagree with.

I thought the same thing. I hope they didn’t rush out and produce a bunch of them.

First off, screw underarmour they fired their female hunter spokesperson because the liberals got mad about her hunting. They insulted their actual customers in order to please non-customers.

Sports hijabs, however, are capitalism. Why isn’t there a Saudi company that makes sports hijabs? Because totalitarian systems only give people what the elite decide they need. Capitalist systems give people what they want, AUTOMATICALLY. The existence of someone who might want something makes some capitalist try to make it and sell it to them. So, the fact that Muslims have decided to let some of their women do sports, combined with the fact that their violent, misogynist, totalitarian, barbarian religion says they have to wear something on their head as a symbol of their subjugation, means some capitalist will sell them something to wear on their head to remain subjugated while doing sports. I have no problem with capitalists. The alternative would be these women figure skating or whatever with some stupid scarf getting in their way because their slave masters don’t care.

Their idea of modesty just covers the hair. They see no problem wearing tight yoga pants?

Not when the company is going to lose women and maybe men customers, who are angry about this.

Nike has done kooky things for years. They have way too many customers. I don’t think conservatives make up enough of Nike brand for them to suffer. I hate that but it is true.

I’ve never bought any of their products and neither has anyone I know, so yes, you’re right about people like us not being their major customers.

I have all Under Armor, and Adidas.
I do not known what it is with Nike. I thought their products are not that good, and their stores are awful. Hip hop music blasting, the people working there, .

I have had New Balance but nothing in the last two years, but I do need a pair of sneakers and will check them out, thank you for reminding me.
