Neither Comey nor the FBI have confirmed that Comey asked the DOJ to disavow the Trump claims of wiretapping.

Trump and Comey and the DOJ are playing the media and the Democrats.

This is getting to be too much. Trump is a business executive. If you have a chief or an executive going against the good of the company, you can their asses. This is insubordination.

If something like this happened at Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Exxon, etc., the chief running their mouth would be publicly lampooned.

The New York Times reported on Jan 20 that Trump was wiretapped. They’re right wing?

The news reports are all over the place on the Russian subject. They claim Trump was working with them, and their source is the wire tap. Then they say there was no proof of a wire tap. But they base all their sources from the wire tap. Comey???? First he meets with Trump, then says, according to the Fake News, that there wasn’t a wire tap, or leads people to believe there wasn’t one. Why does this guy still have a job?? He either knows something and is part of the Trump team, or has dirt on everyone including Trump. Nobody can figure this guy out, but it looks like he is going to run out of contradictions and friends.

Has anyone even asked the FBI to make a statement?

Ping. Sean Spicer said about Comey contacting DOJ, “I have not seen anything, aside from another report based on anonymous sources, that that actually happened,” Spicer said. “I’m not aware that that occurred. I don’t think that we’re aware that that occurred.”

Sounds like NYT wants to make a rift between FBI and Trump or even get Trump to fire Comey. I admit Comey appears very flaky but there may be much more here than meets the eye. It is NYT after all.

Legal Wire Taps vs Wire Taps.

I think this keeps confusing the issue.

People had access to “Mined” data, to many people, that was leaked and is used for nefarious reasons

See Trey Gowdy’s comments to Fox News last thursday after the closed door briefing to the Select Intel Committee.
If any “communication to the DOJ” does not publicly directly come from Comey to the DOJ, and the only “he said it” is from NYT and WaPo— then IT DID NOT AND HAS NOT HAPPENED. Which is why no-one will be hearing from the DOJ. The DOJ, recall, is now headed by Jeff Sessions who is free to flay the democrats alive.

Pretty surprised at the obtuseness of FReepers, whom have in the past been pretty astute. Start with the wikipedia history of Mr. Comey— to include his support of John Ashcroft, in pushing back against the national blanket surveillance of the entire population, which was being pushed by Alberto Gonzales... the bushie AG and Andrew Card (remember them). Should mention that the FISA court process came to us in 1978 after the Church Committee. Also- while you’re there and elsewhere, find out the fallacies about Lowretta Lynch, billy powdernose, HSBC and Mr. Comey. the repeated poster meme is incorrect.

Here’s hoping you will be pleasantly surprised. Then take a look at Robert Gates who recommended the approval as DNI of a true clueless plodder, Mr. Clapper the perfect Clouseau, to commit world crimes in plain view by lower chain actors. And who is backpedaling like all hell NOT to be indicted— cause indeed— “how would you know, Mr. Clapper” there wasn’t a tap? Hmmmm?

After all the politicizing, and wanting to create a cabal of federal Stasi-like gestop national police rubber stamped by fellow traveler dept. of “Just Us”, done by obama— it is refreshing to have Comey who understands the counterintel function of the FBI, and the need not to be seen as “one party or another” in federal interactions with state and local jurisdictional police matters.

White House has rejected reports that F.B.I Director James Comey disagrees with Trump’s wiretapping claims

I'm inclined to think that this is the truth, rather than any tale floated by the NY Slimes. If Comey disagreed or thought that the tapping claims were false, why wouldn't HE hold a press conference and say so, rather than trying to get the DOJ to discredit the claim? Comey certainly hasn't been camera shy in the past.

Precisely. I have been saying that since the story came out in the NYT. Everyone has been quoting the NYT story and IMHO that is very, very risky.

Remember: Obama ordered surveillance of Fox News’s James Rosen and his parents! — with no legal authority that I know of. He bugged Sharyl Atkisson (then of CBS.) He secretly subpoenaed the phone records of several Associated Press reporters. He illegally used the IRS to punish political opponents. He illegally used an executive order to give amnesty to “Dreamers” — a power even he admitted he didn’t have. He and Eric Holder intervened ion the ongoing case against the New Black panthers to end the prosecution — after the Bush Administration had essentially gotten them convicted. (And they ran guns to the Mexican gun cartels.) So why wouldn’t he wiretap Trump, with or without a warrant? But that’s not even the primary issue. I don’t care if it’s President Bush, President Obama, President Trump, the next president, or the one after that. NO President should have such powers. We need to repeal the Patriot Act and the FISA act, which are the sources of this power. That is not to minimize what Obama apparently did. But we need to pull this up by the roots rather than focusing completely on just one individual president.

It's hilarious to me that the Fake News Meida thinks they can just instantaneously pivot to the notion that there hasn't been any surveillance, wiretaps, intelligence gathering, etc., when they've been relying of precisely such things for the last several months.

They just expect the People to believe that the information that has been leaked just magically fell out of the sky, I suppose. And because the target might not have been directly specified as being the President, but rather his associates and campaign surrogates, the Media additionally expect that to somehow excuse it all, and make the President "wrong" somehow.

What a bunch of clowns, and the entire country is seeing it more and more clearly.

In retrospect, President Trump's tweet was brilliant, and the details around which it was made will now come out.

What will emerge is that 0bama, Hillary and the Dems, under whatever sleazy auspices they could do it, were actively spying on the Trump campaign, abusing the powers of government to do so, and likely broke several laws along the way.

Regardless of whether it was "legal" or not, we can reasonably infer that they got jack sh!t for their scummy efforts, and all they were left with was an innuendo campaign which was a brazen attempt to create smoke where there was none.

And then President Trump, with Patriots like Mark Levin having his back (for once), blew up the entire narrative of the Enemy, who is now back on its heels playing defense.

Just brilliant on the President's part, and a testament to the fact that the Lamestrem Media have been engaging in nothing but fake news (democrat propaganda) for months.

The Democrats and Media (but I repeat myself) look like the utter fools that they are.

Oh, they'll keep trying. It's all they have. But they are in their death throes, and increasingly we're going to start seeing some of the rats who have a modicum of integrity (albeit that of a rat) begin fleeing this sinking ship.

I won't be surprised if Senator Manchin and some of his ilk switch to the GOP, both in the federal legislatures as well as the state.

Oh well, the Democrats still have California and NYC for the moment.

Over the next several months, we're going to watch the vise grow tighter and tighter as the truth of the Democrats' despicable behavior is slowly revealed.

FBI # 2 A. McCabe seems just as bad or much worse as it is reported he is the one slow walking the investigation into the Clintons and has done similar work for Clintons for years.
