Congressional Republicans on Monday night released their formal plan for replacing Obamacare.
Read the bill here.
(Excerpt) Read more at cnbc.com ...
From what I understand, the repeal will be a separate bill. That will be a simple bill, just saying, “End of the ACA.”
Then the new bill goes into effect.
HOUSE AND SENATE REPUBLICANS.........WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING??? You promised repeal and replace.....why haven’t you been working on that??? Didn’t you expect you would ever have the opportunity to repeal and replace??? What have you been doing since Trump won in November??? This looks like a slap-dash mess! I am sickened by the Uniparty. ENOUGH!
Might as well call it Trumpcare. They will.
Who told you that?
From what I understand, that will be a separate bill that just kills the ACA.
So a total repeal of the ACA, followed by the replacement.
oh my goodness. i’m only about 10 pages in. and skipping around. you have to reread obamacare to tell what’s in this. it’s working off obamacare.
just one section 134 (the BS bronze, silver, gold, platinum plans 4 sizes fit all section) tells you this is not immediate and not a true repeal. gotta wait until 2020 (oh good grief after the election). this is basically amending obamacare to fake a repeal.
for example *sunsetting* in sect 134:
“...(and such a requirement shall be applied as
if this section had been repealed).”
SEC. 134. INCREASING COVERAGE OPTIONS.
5
Section 1302 of the Patient Protection and Afford-
6
able Care Act (42 U.S.C. 18022) is amended
7
(1) in subsection (a)(3), by inserting and with
8
respect to a plan year before plan year 2020 after
9
subsection (e); and
10
(2) in subsection (d), by adding at the end the
11
following:
12
(5) S
UNSET
.The provisions of this sub-
13
section shall not apply after December 31, 2019,
14
and after such date any reference to this subsection
15
or level of coverage or plan described in this sub-
16
section and any requirement under law applying
17
such a level of coverage or plan shall have no force
18
or effect (and such a requirement shall be applied as
19
if this section had been repealed)..
Josh kushner 2.7 billion company relies on obamacare..
Ahem...
I hope so. Then Trump can sign the repeal and veto the ‘new’ Obamacare.
That's what they are doing.
The fate of the Republican Party rests upon them doing what was promised.
Appalling.
Deductions allow you to keep your own money. A tax credit you get even if you pay no taxes. It's an entitlement.
I feel like I have been sold a bill of goods. Trump better not back down on immigration too

Paul has the support of the 40 vote bloc House Freedom Caucus, and Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz vowed last week to oppose any proposal that did not meet the bare minimum of the Obamacare repeal passed in 2015. Paul, Lee and Cruz alone could potentially block any Obamacare proposal passed by the House if it does not meet their standards. Republicans would likely need 50 of the 52 GOP senators to vote for a repeal-and-replace bill, so the trio could sink any proposal they dislike, Politico noted Monday.linky
Marie — that may be, but why isn’t it made public today? Repeal, and the profligate use of the word in the campaign, has a meaning. Repeal is to “revoke or annul.” This bill doesn’t repeal anything except Section 1402 of the ACA.
Perhaps the proper word, in context during the campaign, should have been “modify” the ACA.
My unhappiness with the elected politicians, even the President if he signs on to this, waxes with anger.

Because they’ve been talking about doing that - and only doing that - since the election?
Because the big question has been, “Well, we know they’re going to repeal the ACA, but what are they going to replace it with?”
Here’s the answer.
I am getting sick of the kushners more each day. Multi billion dollar company tied to obamacare...
IMHO I think there will be a lot of changes to this bill by the time it comes up for a vote.
It’s a separate bill.
The ‘repeal’ will be short and sweet and undo everything in the ACA. Then the replacement goes through. They’ll have an effective date to bring them both into effect on the same day.
I don’t understand what FReepers don’t get about this. This is ALL that’s been discussed for months.
