For one West Texas city, the proposition may be simple: Take a contract to work on Donald Trump's border wall with Mexico and give up any work with the city.
An El Paso city councilman is pushing the idea of prohibiting the city from awarding any kind of contract to a vendor or company working on the proposed wall. The issue will come up Tuesday during a regular meeting of the council.

Build the wall around the north side of El Paso. Let the city council figure out how to deal with that.
¡Si!
El Paso city government is its own worst enemy.
Good idea!
The wall is already complete through El Paso County.
Not much of a wall.
Offer amnesty to any illegal alien (who isn't otherwise a criminal) if they work on the building of the wall. That thing would be built in no time!
Too bad. The phrase fits perfectly.

Here’s a list:
The second [El Paso] publicly traded company is Helen of Troy Limited, a NASDAQ-listed company that manufactures personal health care products under many labels, such as OXO, Dr. Scholl’s, Vidal Sassoon, Pert Plus, Brut and Sunbeam (from Wikipedia)
El Paso’s practically a Mexican city already, which is why it’s not surprising that their loyalty is with Mexico. It’s very important we get the border very secure there, because Juarez (right across from El Paso) is one of the biggest and most dangerous dumps in all of Mexico. The drug cartels rule the place.
Representative Peter Svarzbein said the idea is to foster a larger conversation about the wall.
No but getting rid of that “Hold the Line” crap will free up a lot more agents.
I’m not sure that is even legal. Past experience, provided it isn’t illegal, is not something that should prevent a person from taking on a job elsewhere.
I think El Paso is in violation here.
Let’s see......Do I want to build a $20 billion wall, or do I want to repair potholes in El Paso? That’s a tough choice NOT
I-10 is the major southern east-west artery that goes through El Paso. Major interstate running from Florida to California. Lots and lots of truck and car traffic.
Bake the cake, bubba.
Ft Bliss. (My son is allegedly stationed there, although he is gone more than he is there.)
Ft Sam Houston is in San Antonio. (I have a hard time keeping all the Army installations straight, too, especially Ft Bliss and Ft Sill (which is just up the road from us.) I can't count the number of times I've said one and meant the other.
Not one square inch of Texas’ soil to our southern neighbor!
Reroute. Cut el Mexico off
I read that a Mexican cement company wants to do the concrete work on the fence.
They can’t legaly do that. The city attorney will step in and correct the council.
Cut all federal money - food stamps, disability the whole nine yards...
