So easy, a caveman could do it. Hopefully this will be the start of a long string of reversals of epa BS. Like corn subsidies and required use of 'F'enol.

About time...Small cars are useless here in the north. You need the weight and the power. No tin cans with a motor.

And which two regulations are being eliminated due to this?

how about ethanol as an option ?
In Illinois, I can not find a station that sells ethanol-less gas.
Pure gasoline would probably solve most of the MPG “issues”.

If it were not for government and legal system interference, we would already have flying cars with less traffic related death and injury than we have now. The General Aviation airplane I own, a 1969 Piper Cherokee which has an engine which was originally certified in 1952. This engine was based on 1930s technology perfected during WWII. It is essentially on old Volkswagen engine on steroids. This was an entry level aircraft and engine. But this same engine now costs approximately $47,000 new.

The price of a new entry level airplane that is equivalent to ours is now over $200,000 despite having far fewer parts and other than upgraded navigation and communications technology essentially no upgrades to the basic aircraft. Why? Mostly because of frivolous lawsuits by ambulance chasing lawyers and over regulation by the government that stifles innovation.

The small aircraft industry is a case in point of what happens when the government over regulates and lawyers are allowed to sue a manufacturing sector into oblivion. Innovation is stifled and prices are several times higher than they would be otherwise.

Very excited about the prospects of reversing these nonsensical NWO friendly regulations.

Not the least of which, as you point out, is ethanol in the gas tank. How mindless are these liberal busybodies!

Hopefully the ‘gas guzzling tax’ imposed on muscle cars will be a thing of the past.

Oh, this is fantastic, if true and it goes through. IMO, these fuel economy standards are absurd. Keep emissions at a low enough level to prevent actual pollution(carbon dioxide is not a pollutant since it is a naturally occurring trace gas), but let the auto buying public decide how many miles per gallon they want. We have plenty of gas.

Boy, it’s like Christmas every day with the Trump Administration. This is really good news, those lightweight tin boxes they make now to get good fuel economy are deathtraps.

The President could direct the GSA to only purchase government cars that meet the EPA fantasies.

Love how bureaucrats sit in DC and make rules for people who know how to do stuff... unlike themselves.

EPA to announce reversal on fuel economy standards

This is precisely the type of changes I expected under Trump.

MAGA!

Well, I hope they start making station wagons that will hold something instead of these toys they are putting out now, just so they can continue to make their 18 mpg trucks.

I have a 2004 Ford FreeStar that I am nursing - it seems to be near the end of the line for decent capacity wagons.

Good, now if they can just get rid of the rest of the stupid crap not needed for the operation of a vehicle, maybe we would have something.
