From what I read you can be single, NO children and still get the EITC. The only ones that can't get it is if married filing separately. and if your income is to much.
I may be wrong, but I don't think Ivanka is envolved in either the EITC or the child credit. Ivanka was pushing a CHILDCARE DEDUCTION of which there is already a CHILDCARE CREDIT. It appears if Trumps tax plan goes this route it is the DEDUCTION, that would let the rich benefit.

Today he was taken in by the wiretap that we heard wasn’t going to be discussed but he spent several minutes giving a sermon on how the reporters report differently about Republicans and Democrats. He needs to stay on point and stop trying to fight fires. The presser went down hill once they saw he was agitated.

The new GOP plan does have a penalty - but it’s paid to the insurance company. At least as far as I have heard.

It is my understanding that in the Ryancare bill, if you go without insurance for a period of time (days/ months) you will have a 30% surcharge upon re-enrollment. That’s what some are calling the “penalty” for not having insurance.
