Passengers at U.S. airports chosen for physical pat-downs will reportedly face a more "comprehensive" screening after a 2015 audit that apparently showed some safety vulnerability.
Bloomberg reported that airport employees have already been notified at some locations that they need to employ a more rigorous and thorough screening. The screenings will reportedly include more intimate contact than before. The new measure also applies to airline pilots and flight attendants.

>>>Do what the Israelis do. PROFILE.
Israel has essentially one airport with about 17MM passengers a year, most of whom are travelling internationally so they have passports, visas etc. In the US we have over 500 airports and 800MM passengers annually. Most are flying domestically. That is a much harder system in which to train and maintain a profiling program.
If where I have to go is 400 miles or less, I drive.
If where I have to go is 400 miles or more, I drive further.
Do you have a particular book to recommend? I’ve been reading a lot of history lately, but haven’t touched on the French & Indian wars.
“Montcalm and Wolfe” by Francis Parkman, which was originally published in 1884 but had a hardback 100th anniversary reprint in the early 80s (which is what I have). Checking Amazon, I see they have 2001 paperback available.
It’s pretty comprehensive and indexed. Maps and fort drawings for campaigns, including Washington’s expeditions.
I found it especially entertaining as I’m originally from the north east so it was nice to hear about things going on in places I knew of.
It also has a full chapter on the forced migration of the Acadians, which was the basis of Longfellow’s “Evangeline” which you may have heard references to here and there. Read that as well if you want to see how not having wires and phones created drama! That you can find for free online.
Thanks very much! I’ve been meaning to place an order on Amazon. One more for the list... :-)
Everyone should tell TSA: Touch my junk and I’ll knock you out. It is time to end this nonsense. And this could be fake news, but I stand by my assertion.
it is cheaper and easier to search ‘terrorist looking’ people then to pat down every white haired granny and suspicious 2 year olds diapers.
yes you assume any and all can be trouble.
but common sense tells you where to concentrate your efforts/
Nobody can say that they weren’t warned.
How does the quote go: those who give up freedom for a moment of security diserve neither freedom or security.

... and will lose both.
The new Trump Profiling Program for TSA should state:
Forget grannies, little girls, & nuns. Nail every military age Muslim male who enters the concourse.

Israeli population is 2.4% of the USA
Israeli air passengers (using your numbers) is 2.1% of USA numbers.
The problem is not the number of passengers. The problems is that we do not treat it as a military problem. We treat it as a Politically Correct legal problem.
By “legal” I mean ‘keeping the tort lawyers, ACLU, CAIR, harpies in the MSM and Snowflakes happy’, rather than doing what is right or wrong.
No-one will be patting us down. We'll travel on our schedule. We'll both be armed and protected the entire way. We'll have access to my considerable first aid kit in the event of emergency. We'll take our own breaks at our own pace. We'll see a lot more of the country than we would flying over it. This time next year, if all goes according to plan, we'll be planning a similar trip on a Road Glide or Street Glide and see even more...
Its not so much the number of passengers as it is the number of airports. For profiling to work, the person who loads a 100 people a day out of a small airport has to be as good as the person who loads thousands a day at JFK who has to be as good as the folks who have been doing it for years at Ben Gurion.
I haven’t flown in 15 years. I have no plans to fly.
Very seldom fly any more, just a PITA.
#5, there’s another solution: AMTRAK. Amtrak is ready when you are. I know, I know, for some reason we on the right are supposed to be pulling for Amtrak’s elimination, but consider that on the train, there’s no sitting 3 abreast, no removing shoes, no TSA, carry on whatever you want, ride comfortably and cheaply, and arrive in the city center vs way out in the countryside like Dulles or others. Money talks. If we take the train vs the plane in enough numbers to get the airlines’ attention (which could start happening) you can bet DHS will start hearing about it from them and something will get done. Our crotches are not where people carry weapons anyhow, are they? Common sense,TSA, common sense!
850 miles in a single day?
A tip of the trucker hat to you, sir!
That’s impressive!
A tip back at you. I’ve always liked to drive/ride: cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles... If it’s got wheels and an engine, sign me up. Personal best in a day (sole driver) is about 950. I’ve done that run several times.
Another great read is Wilderness at Dawn-The Settling of the North American Continent by Ted Morgan.
