Israeli air passengers (using your numbers) is 2.1% of USA numbers.
The problem is not the number of passengers. The problems is that we do not treat it as a military problem. We treat it as a Politically Correct legal problem.
By “legal” I mean ‘keeping the tort lawyers, ACLU, CAIR, harpies in the MSM and Snowflakes happy’, rather than doing what is right or wrong.
Its not so much the number of passengers as it is the number of airports. For profiling to work, the person who loads a 100 people a day out of a small airport has to be as good as the person who loads thousands a day at JFK who has to be as good as the folks who have been doing it for years at Ben Gurion.

It’s all about political will, and doing what is needed from a pure security standpoint, vs. doing what is politically correct and includes sufficient virtue signalling to satisfy our large population of SJWs, not to mention satisfying the lawyers, as you mention. Unfortunately, we are doing the latter side of that vs.
