Maybe he could ‘resign’ and have Trump come from backstage and REFUSE the resignation and tell him to get to work, then hand him a folder and say
“As a fellow once said, ‘WE WON!!!, well, I did, I appointed you and the Senate approved”
“You have to make this folder your priority, so go ahead and get started
Of course by now ‘they’ probably know who to ‘leak’ what to and will be able to use them (the leakers) as useful idiots.

from what I read, I don’t remember where, that’s pretty much what it was. He talked to the Russian ambassador at a cocktail party for a few minutes and they talked about various projects they were interested in.

It’s a good think FReepers don’t wear pearls or the place would be littered with them, after all the clutching that’s going on.
I expect him to hammer the facts and tell the press to stop lying.
Or even announce a personal (not government) libel and slander case.

Let’s wait until 4 to see if he needs to be chided to “man up”.
Hopefully he’s going to explain to them 2 simple concepts:
1. He was on the Armed Services Committee at the time and he was thus free (and arguably obliged) to meet with Russian (or any) diplomats who requested such meetings. And that he’s under no obligation to say what those meetings were about (and in fact is under obligation to not specify what they were about for security reasons). And....
2. When he was asked the question in contention by Senator Smalley (although I’d begrudge him using the name “Franken” here) the topic being discussed was meeting anyone from Russia and discussing the election. THAT is what he answered negatively to (not that he never met with any Russian period).
If anything he can give some blah-blah “apology” about not being precise enough in his answer if he wants but it’s clear he was answering Franken’s question about possible election interference, NOT about whether he never met with any Russians at all.
It doesn’t matter that Franken asked him in that particular question “have you ever met with any Russian official”? The topic (during the confirmation process) was about the election. So it was perfectly truthful for Sessions to say “no” as in “no I never met with anyone to discuss the election”!
So hopefully this will be put to rest in 20 minutes. We will see.
I think they are also planning a date for later tonight...both of them are queer as 3 dollar bills!
