....Moonlight won the top prize at Sunday nights Oscars ceremonyafter some initial envelope confusion created a bizarre sceneand, despite the fact that the independent drama never made much of a splash at the box office. The movie, about a young, gay black man growing up in an impoverished Miami neighborhood, has only made a little more than $22.2 million in domestic movie ticket sales so far, according to Box Office Mojo. Several times.
It will probably be pushed in the artsy movie houses for a few years, especially during the "gay" film festivals extant in the larger cities, and maybe gross a few more million.
lol
I had a VERY STRAIGHT dog of a guy friend who worked in the city with me. He was an actor but a tough Irish kid. No fruit.
Got gorgeous girls and good in a bar brawl we had.
He saw Brokeback Mountain.
I was like “why?”
He said I wanted to see the acting. The kissing scenes were tough to watch, but it was good.
I don’t get it.
No way he’s gay. Dating a Gorgeous gal now and i’ve been out with him plenty of times.
I COULDN’T DO IT!
I TRIED with Spartacus on TV. I loved the show but I cracked.
Closing my eyes for those scenes wasn’t enough.
But I tell ya what, they put it on enough shows and often enough, anyone can get used to anything.
That’s why 20 something guys today don’t think it’s such a big deal.
God help us.
Couldn’t drag me to BM (how appropriate) with a heard of horses.
But I take it back: I DID see The Crying Game, inadvertently. That same girlfriend wanted me to see it blind, without my knowing anything about it. She just wanted to see my reaction to the “female” lead in the story. She kept nudging me, “do you think she’s attractive? Huh? What do you think of her?”
Needless to say, she wasn’t my GF for much longer after that.
:)
Thanks!
Have a great day!
Julie
