Franken asked Sessions what he would do (read recuse himself or no) if any Trump campaign reps were found to have had contact with the Russian government in the course of said campaign.

Sessions responded that he was unaware of any such activities and that he himself (sometimes called a surrogate) did not have communications with the Russians and was unable to comment on it. He unfortunately did not then disclose that he had two meetings with the Russian ambassador as part of his Senate Committee work which is now giving the mouthfoamers basis to quibble about semantics.

Asked about the Russian dosier, he answered about it. That is absolutely clear in the audio.

It’s like asking someone if they were at the store when it was robbed, having them answer “I didn’t go to the store”, and them saying they perjured themselves because they had been to that store in the past.

The “disclosure” was properly known to the Senate Armed Services Committee, of which Franken is NOT (and never will be) a member.

No need to disclose, because this is simple “gotcha” bull crap- like “when did you stop beating your wife”, because FRiend... the Senate Armed Services Committee members meet in CLOSED sessions, and have their own security clearances- and rules for such contacts. OK?

This is the 4th or 5th ring of the righteous continuing media circus for the morons of the world, and the “uniformed” informed by “all the news that’s made to fit”, of the fake news propagandists of the dissolving democrat left wing party— current HQ address is Kalorama neighborhood in DC (recent arrival Valerie Jarrett).

Exactly the problem. Correctly and concisely stated by you, good post.

Anyone without an agenda (and with a brain) can see that Sessions, when answering “no” to the question of any contact with the Russians, was saying he had no conversation with them ABOUT THE ELECTION. BECAUSE THAT is what Sen. Smaley was asking him about during the confirmation process!

But as you said those with an agenda are going to make huge hay about his imprecision. Sigh.
