Sen. Lindsey Graham
(R-S.C.) said Tuesday that President Trumps first budget was dead on arrival and wouldnt make it through Congress.
It's not going to happen, said Graham, according to NBC News. It would be a disaster."
Graham, a frequent Trump critic, expressed concerns with Trumps proposed cuts to the State Department budget, especially the targeting of foreign aid.
Trump will propose $54 billion in cuts to fund an equivalent boost in defense spending, White House officials said Monday. The administration will make massive cuts from the Environmental Protection Agency and State Department, even though both of their budgets combined barely come close to the Trumps proposed defense hike. Graham said significant State Department cuts would endanger American Foreign Service officers.
"A budget this lean would put those who serve overseas for the State Department at risk, said Graham. And it's not going to happen."
Trumps first budget proposal, slated to be released March 16, lacks key details but is already stoking bipartisan concern.
Senate Foreign Relations Committee members in both parties have spoken out against Trumps proposed foreign aid cuts, defending the necessity of funding development projects in needy nations.

I am from SC and I have been calling, e-mailing etc. VM is always full and no response to e-mail. I cannot tell you how much I detest this “man”( using this loosely) and McCain.
Haiti and the Clintons.
Here’s to hoping that PizzaGate brings felony charges to this asswipe.
Our biggest problem is all the butthurt Cucks
Is Junior McCain mouthing off again?
Can’t.
Can’t.
Can’t.
I’m sooo tired of hearing that word from any and every Republican I could just spit.
We need people who CAN.
He’s a puppy trying to run with the big dogs.
I figured as much. I was demonstrating Liberal denial.
And funnel back to ones' self. You have this so right, Moonman. Most if not all discretionary spending is nothing but a vast money laundering scheme.
What did Linda get, 0.02% of primary voters? STHU you pathetic RINO.
Chuckie is a DC roomate of Dick Durbin. Maybe they both have Aids!
I just called the senators Washington office and left a blistering message. Anyone else from SC should do likewise. The only reason he continues to win elections is because we have open primaries and Dems crossover to vote for him. SC needs to close the primaries. If we did, he would lose.
“The only reason he continues to win elections is because we have open primaries and Dems crossover to vote for him. SC needs to close the primaries. If we did, he would lose.”
makes total sense, because that’s the only way the Dems in S.C. have any influence on Senate elections. I wondered why that douchebag kept winning primaries in the great state of South Carolina! Now I know.
Linda Graham is more swamp scum that is badly in need of draining.
That’s how I feel about it too. Foreign aid. Pffffftttt!!
No.
Not flooding his office because, unlike the “protestors” bussed into the Republican town halls, we have jobs and other things that need to be done other than being a bunch of lazy know-nothing societal leeches.
We also have to work hard to pay all of the taxes that feed and clothe illegal immigrants and aforementioned leeches.
I voted Democrat last time he won the primary, just to get him out.
All that said, I wonder how much Lindsey is skimming off the top of that foreign aid.
Ha. I would be ashamed. these guys are embarrassing.
South Carolina is where Trump won the GOP nomination. The DOA budget crap is supposed to be said by the OTHER party.
I’m guessing the Graham is not running for re-election. The pols here in Georgia are largely perfidious, but not politically deaf.
When Lindsey Graham starts getting the same hostile reception in the Low Country around Charleston as he does in his native Upstate in the Greenville and Spartanburg vicinity, I’ll believe that they’ll finally rid themselves of him. As it stands, the only way he’ll be gone is to ditch open primaries, and the GOP is not going to allow that.
