ttorney General Jeff Sessions has twice in two days publicly bashed marijuana legalization, abandoning his confirmation-process reticence to discuss the topic and reclaiming his colorful opposition.
On Tuesday, Sessions told a Washington ballroom packed with state attorneys general many of them in charge of defending laws that conflict with federal prohibition that pot legalization should be resisted, though he did not describe any specific plans to challenge state-regulated markets.
Attorneys general of three states with laws allowing for recreational sales told U.S. News after the remarks that Sessions needs to clarify his intentions.

Awww, you poor thing. Have another drink lol.
“So there are Federal anti prostitution laws? Who know?”
That’s my point. There are no Federal laws on Whiskey, Gambling or Prostitution. And I’m sure those ‘ol boys fr4om the House of the Rising Sun would sing their lamentations on how it’s hurt their lives.
Seems since folks are arguing to solve the weakness of men we ought to throw these sinful life destroyers into the bucket and make sure we solve them all.
After all, that’s what do-gooders do. They solve other men’s problems on their behalf. And we all know that often takes tough love and a firm hand.
And they're quite willing to have fedgov be the ones administer it, 10th Amendment be damned.
Yes, it will, and it's utterly needless. AG Sessions needs to prioritize his limited time and resources.
I hope President Trump is smart enough to avoid damaging what is currently a fragile coalition. Indeed, he has many opportunities to expand it, and that's what he should be concentrating on.
For AG Sessions to meddle in affairs which arguably arent even within the purview of the federal government is simply misguided.
The authoritarian Prohibitionist mindset isn't anything that's going to strengthen a tenuous coalition. After all, some of the states which Trump won also passed Marijuana decriminalization measures. My home state of Florida is a good example.
Quite frankly, people who think that free Americans belong in prison simply for possessing the wrong plant, liquid spirits, medicine, or gun are themselves a threat to the stability of this Revolution. We need to build unity, not get bogged down in the weeds of Arbitrary Law.
Prohibitionism is regressive thinking. Society can address the challenges of Freedom without adopting Tyrannical compromises which necessarily require an ever expansive police state and the attendant trampling of Unalienable Rights.
Nanny-staters, while they may indeed be well-meaning, simply don't believe in minimal government, and, like their counterparts on the left, seek to impose shortcut solutions which ultimately destroy Liberty and grow the State.
Education, not legislation, will minimize substance abuse issues. Failed and illegitimate authoritarian solutions will never suffice...
You think reefer addicts were key to Trump winning?
No, the theory of small “edges” where an edge is a statistical advantage however so small.
Given any complex event, the more small edges you can find, the more successful you will be — unless your position is hopeless and there are insufficient advantages to accumulate.
Trump with the canniness of a successful professional gambler, built sufficient small edges across all constituencies in his campaign as to strategically win the most EV.
It’s all moot now as Sessions has said he’s leaving it up to the state, unless of course there is a serious criminal enterprise going on. Like organized crime, protection rackets on marijuana dispensaries, certain cartel activities.
The person who is going to have to answer to their own conscience about that oath they took, that’s who.
